So, we have talked about sinners, and we have talked about saints but what about us and where do we fit in, I touched on it yesterday. We are saints set apart of from the others because of what we recognize our sin, that we are not perfect, we are not better than anyone else, have joy, and repent of our sins.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 1 Peter 2:9 NASB
But know that the Lord has set apart the godly person for Himself; The Lord hears when I call to Him. Psalm 4:3 NASB
Those religious people who are saints thought they were not doing wrong they missed the point, Jesus then all the other stuff.
We are a different kind of religious person and that we are called Christians, and we are not to be religious. We are to follow the laws but not be the laws. We are to be just like Jesus and what he did.
16 “This is the covenant which I will make with them After those days, declares the Lord: I will put My laws upon their hearts, And write them on their mind,” He then says, 17 “And their sins and their lawless deeds I will no longer remember.” Hebrews 10:16-17 NASB
God will write on our hearts the way we are to do the laws and what we are to with them. God does not say we are the law or have to be stuck up when doing them as the saints.
We need to be like Jesus and what he did on the earth. He knew what to do, to not be religious and to not be like the saints but be a saint.
Everything in the Bible about Jesus we are to strive to be and strive to live out.
We are called to do this.
By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 NASB
Love is used here but this can be applied to everything that Jesus was and did.
We are to be like Jesus!!!!
How can you be more like Jesus?
How can you be less like the saints?
Are you religious? Should we be?
Does religion stand in the way of true faith?
Which is better love /Jesus or religion?
Think about these questions today!!!
For tomorrow we will end this series...
