Genesis 1:1 Journey Study...

So, we started with Genesis 1:1 and have been on a journey to see where it leads us.

The first thing we learned was God created- (all things). we know this by looking at Genesis 1:1, Psalms

102:25, and Nehemiah 9:6.

The second thing we learned was we are to worship God- (created to worship Him). We know

this by Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 22:37, and Deuteronomy 6:5.

The third thing we learned was to seek and find God. We know this by looking at Deuteronomy

4:29, 2 Chronicles 15:4, and Jeremiah 29:17.

The fourth thing we learned was to pray and answer from God. we know this by looking at Psalm

32:6, Psalm 68:13, and Isaiah 49:8.

We learned these things as to why we were created for. God created us to do these things so we can have

an intimate relationship with Him. He put these unique things in us, so we can have a

relationship with our Maker/Father.

After that, the study led us to who God is to us which is why we are to do the things above.

The first thing learned God is our rock and we know this by looking at Isaiah 26:4, Isaiah 12:2, and Psalm

13:5.

The second thing we learned was that God is our stronghold and we know this by looking at Psalm 9:9,

Nahum 1:7 and Psalm 62:2.

The third thing we learned was God is our strength and we know this by looking at Psalm 59:9, Psalm

59:16, and Psalm 59:17.

Glory!!!

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Today I am feeling led to pray for Glory.

Not God's glory but our glory

Promises Glory to His people.

Dear God, I pray that You give us glory

That the glory you give us would build to bring more glory upon us so that we may glorify you

Genesis 1:1 Journey Study...

Today we continue our journey that we start with Genesis 1:1 which led us to Psalms 102:25

Which led us to Deuteronomy 4:29 which led us to Psalm 32:6 which now leads us to Isaiah

26:4 to Psalm 9:9 which led us to Psalm 59:9 which leads us to Psalm 59:10 which leads us 1

John 3:1 to Psalm 103:3 to 2 Corinthians 1:3 to Romans 12:19.

Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written,

“Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19

The first part of this verse says never do bad to someone who has done wrong to you, leave

 that to God.

The second part of the verse backs that up and says vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the

Lord.

Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of

conscience. Romans 13:5

We must be in subjection this talks about the government but mostly talks about being in

subjection to a higher power.

We need to do this not just for the wrath that God will bring but for our beliefs.

God's wrath will occur if we are not in subjection.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of

men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

God will bring about wrath on the ungodly and the unrighteous by what they do they crush the

truth.

John 3:1 to Psalm 103:3 to 2 Corinthians 1:3.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 2 Corinthians 1:3

This was a greeting written by Paul.

Paul refers to God as our comforter.

God comforts His people.

19 When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul. Psalm 94:19

This verse also refers to God comforting us.

When we have anxious thoughts, God will comfort us.

17 Show me a sign of good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me. Psalm 86:17

David wrote this prayer about supplications and trust.

David wanted God to show Him a sign that those who did not like David would see it and be ashamed.

God wants to help us and comfort us just like He did for David.

John 3:1 to Psalm 103:3.

3 Who pardons all your guilt,

Who heals all your diseases; Psalm 103:3

This verse is part of praises for the lord's mercies.

It lists the benefits of God.

Our God pardons our guilt is the first one.

The second God heals our diseases.

2 Lord my God,

I cried to You for help, and You healed me. Psalm 30:2

David is the I who is talked about in this verse.

So David cried out for help and God healed Him.

God saved Him from death from Saul.

26 And He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is

right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of

the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the Lord, am your healer.”

Exodus 15:26

God was to give disease to the Egyptians but not to the faithful-the Jews.

There is a lot to impact in this verse but wanted to touch a bit on the rest of the verse before

we concentrate on the last part of the verse.

The Lord Is our healer.

He will heal us!!!!

Genesis 1:1 Study Journey...

Today we continue our journey that we start with Genesis 1:1 which led us to Psalms 102:25 Which led us to Deuteronomy 4:29 which led us to Psalm 32:6 which now leads us to Isaiah 26:4 to Psalm 9:9 which led us to Psalm 59:9 which leads us to Psalm 59:10 which leads us

3 See how great a love the Father has given us, that we would be called children of God; and in fact we are. For this reason the world does not know us: because it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1

God is our Father because, in fact, we are God's children according to this verse.

The father/son/daughter relationship is what it means that He is our Father.

This relationship shows how much he loves us.

This is the main point in the verse that we need to look for in this study.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 1:3

God our Father comes up again.

So, God is our Father.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 1:2

The same is said in this verse that God is our Father.

So, we know by these verses that God is our Father.

“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Matthew 6:9

This verse tells us that God is our Father, and He lives in heaven.

So, our Father Lives in heaven and we are His children.

Amen to that!!!

Genesis 1:1 Journey Study...

Today we continue our journey that we start with Genesis 1:1 which led us to Psalms 102:25 Which led us to Deuteronomy 4:29 which led us to Psalm 32:6 which now leads us to Isaiah 26:4 to Psalm 9:9 which led us to Psalm 59:9 which leads us to Psalm 59:10.

10 My loving God will come to meet me. God will allow me to look down on my enemies. Psalm 59:10 CEB

God loves us and we meet us where we are so that our enemies are no more.

We will be able to look down on our enemies and see the victory.

7 For He has saved me from all trouble,

And my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.  Psalm 54:7

He refers to God.

God has saved us from our troubles.

Again, we can look at our enemies and see the victory.

6 This wretched man cried out, and the Lord heard him,

And saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 34:6

Many versions use the poor man instead of the wretched man.

A humble man is what the reader is trying to convey.

The Lord heard is humble cries.

He saved him from trouble like the two verses about saving someone from trouble.

Genesis 1:1 Journey Study...

Today we continue our journey that we start with Genesis 1:1 which led us to Psalms 102:25

Which led us to Deuteronomy 4:29 which led us to Psalm 32:6 which now leads us to Isaiah

26:4 to Psalm 9:9 which lead us to Psalm 59:9.

9 Because of his strength I will watch for You,

For God is my refuge. Psalm 59:9

Many ancient versions use the word my instead of His.

So, His strength refers to the power of His enemies.

But both lead to the power of the enemy.

Refuge refers to a safe place, where God is my defense.

16 But as for me, I will sing of Your strength;

Yes, I will joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the morning,

For You have been my refuge

And a place of refuge on the day of my distress. Psalm 59:16

We will sing of God's strength.

We will be joyful in that singing of the faithfulness of God.

Refuge refers to the protection and safety of being in God, a safe place.

In times of trouble, he will be our safe place.

My strength, I will sing praises to You;

For God is my refuge, the God who shows me favor. Psalm 59:17

Here we see that we are to sing praises to God.

For God is my refuge refers to being our defense, a safe place to be.

Genesis 1:1 Journey Study...

Today we continue our journey that we start with Genesis 1:1 which led us to Psalms 102:25

Which led us to Deuteronomy 4:29 which led us to Psalm 32:6 which now leads us to Isaiah

26:4 to Psalm 9:9.

So, it seems that our journey has led us to what we are supposed to do after we were created

to what God is to us....

9 The Lord will also be a stronghold for the oppressed,

A stronghold in times of trouble; Psalm 9:9

People who are subject to bad and wrong treatment by authoritarian.

God will be their stronghold in those times for the people who are being oppressed.

When trouble comes God will be their stronghold as well.

The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in

Him. Nahum 1:7

This verse again says trouble like the first verse.

So, when trouble comes, He will be our stronghold.

He alone is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I will not be greatly shaken. Psalm 62:2

God alone is my rock and salvation, My stronghold.

Because of these things, we will not be greatly shaken.

.... but let's see where we go tomorrow to see if keeps going in the direction as it has so far.

Have A Blessed Day!!!
