Deuteronomy 9

Hear, O Israel. You are to cross the Jordan today to go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than you are, cities great and fortified up to the heavens,

A people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know and of whom you have heard it said, Who can stand before the sons of Anak?

Know therefore this day that the Lord your God is He Who goes over before you as a devouring fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall dispossess them and make them perish quickly, as the Lord has promised you.

Do not say in your [mind and] heart, after the Lord your God has thrust them out from before you, It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land—whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is dispossessing them before you.

Not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your [minds and] hearts do you go to possess their land; but because of the wickedness of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out before you, and that He may fulfill the promise which the Lord swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Know therefore that the Lord your God does not give you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a hard and stubborn people.

[Earnestly] remember and forget not how you provoked the Lord your God to wrath in the wilderness; from the day you left the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the Lord.

Even in Horeb you provoked the Lord to wrath, and the Lord was so angry with you that He would have destroyed you.

When I went up the mountain to receive the tables of stone, the tables of the covenant which the Lord made with you, I remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I neither ate food nor drank water.

10 And the Lord delivered to me the two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them were all the words which the Lord spoke with you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

11 And at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me the two tables of stone, the tables of the covenant.

12 And the Lord said to me, Arise, go down from here quickly, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made for themselves a molten image.

13 Furthermore the Lord said to me, I have seen this people, and behold, they are stubborn and hard.

14 Let me alone, that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under the heavens; and I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.

15 So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire. And the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.

16 And I looked, and behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God; you had made for yourselves a molten calf. You had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord had commanded you.

17 I took the two tables, cast them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes.

18 Then I fell down before the Lord as before, for forty days and forty nights; I neither ate food nor drank water, because of all the sin you had committed in doing wickedly in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

19 For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure which the Lord held against you, enough to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.

20 And the Lord was very angry with Aaron, angry enough to have destroyed him, and I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.

21 And I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire and crushed it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust; and I cast the dust of it into the brook that came down out of the mountain.

22 At Taberah also and at Massah and at Kibroth-hattaavah you provoked the Lord to wrath.

23 Likewise when the Lord sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you, then you rebelled against the commandment of the Lord your God, and you did not believe Him or trust and rely on Him or obey His voice.

24 You have been rebellious against the Lord from the day that I knew you.

25 So I fell down and lay prostrate before the Lord forty days and nights because the Lord had said He would destroy you.

26 And I prayed to the Lord, O Lord God, do not destroy Your people and Your heritage, whom You have redeemed through Your greatness, whom You have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

27 Remember [earnestly] Your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not at the stubbornness of this people or at their wickedness or at their sin,

28 Lest the land from which You brought us out say, Because the Lord was not able to bring them into the land which He promised them, and because He hated them, He has brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.

29 Yet they are Your people and Your inheritance, whom You brought out by Your mighty power and by Your outstretched arm. Deuteronomy 9

Let it Grow: The Answer

The greatest problem that is going on in America and in the world isn't anything that is going on except the fact that we have fallen away from worshiping. The problem is that we know longer seek God and worship Him. And the Lord was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned from the Lord, the God of Israel, Who had appeared to him twice, 1 Kings 11:19. The Old Testament is riddled with this idea that people turned from Worshipping God after a time or a season. But it's this idea that they turned from God, seeking Him, and worshipping Him.  For our fathers have trespassed and have done what was evil in the sight of the Lord our God, and they have forsaken Him and have turned away their faces from the dwelling place of the Lord and have turned their backs. 2 Chronicles 29:6. They turned From God and All His ways and commandments.

Even when Jesus came, they turned their backs on God and Crucified Jesus. I know it was a purpose but still, they turned their backs on Jesus. The greatest person to ever live on the earth came and they turned their backs on Him.  And I looked, and behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God; you had made for yourselves a molten calf. You had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord had commanded you. Deuteronomy 9:16. If you remember this story how quickly they wanted something to worship that they could not wait on Moses, so they created something to worship. they did not want to wait on the lord, they wanted it now.

It seems with each passing year we are becoming more like the Old Testament Just part where they turn from God. We with each passing year are trying to take God out of the equation. we no longer want to seek and wait on the Lord. We want to seek everything else but God. We would rather seek sin today than that of Jesus. We would rather seek flesh than Jesus. We would rather seek fool's wisdom than Jesus and His Wisdom. We would rather listen to the devil than that of Jesus. Yes, it Is that bad in today's World, we would rather seek the devil than God.

That blows my mind... The greats of all problems we have is that we do not seek and worship God no more in this country and in this world. That is why I will always with my dying breath lift high the Name of Jesus glorifying Him as He should be.

2 Peter 3

Beloved, I am now writing you this second letter. In [both of] them I have stirred up your unsullied (sincere) mind by way of remembrance,

That you should recall the predictions of the holy (consecrated, dedicated) prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior [given] through your apostles (His special messengers).

To begin with, you must know and understand this, that scoffers (mockers) will come in the last days with scoffing, [people who] walk after their own fleshly desires

And say, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the forefathers fell asleep, all things have continued exactly as they did from the beginning of creation.

For they willfully overlook and forget this [fact], that the heavens [came into] existence long ago by the word of God, and the earth also which was formed out of water and by means of water,

Through which the world that then [existed] was deluged with water and perished.

But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been stored up (reserved) for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly people.

Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape you, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish (pass away) with a thunderous crash, and the [material] elements [of the universe] will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.

11 Since all these things are thus in the process of being dissolved, what kind of person ought [each of] you to be [in the meanwhile] in consecrated and holy behavior and devout and godly qualities,

12 While you wait and earnestly long for (expect and hasten) the coming of the day of God by reason of which the flaming heavens will be dissolved, and the ]material] elements [of the universe] will flare and melt with fire?

13 But we look for new heavens and a new earth according to His promise, in which righteousness (uprightness, freedom from sin, and right standing with God) is to abide.

14 So, beloved, since you are expecting these things, be eager to be found by Him [at His coming] without spot or blemish and at peace [in serene confidence, free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].

15 And consider that the long-suffering of our Lord [His slowness in avenging wrongs and judging the world] is salvation (that which is conducive to the soul’s safety), even as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the spiritual insight given him,

16 Speaking of this as he does in all of his letters. There are some things in those [epistles of Paul] that are difficult to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist and misconstrue to their own utter destruction, just as [they distort and misinterpret] the rest of the Scriptures.

17 Let me warn you therefore, beloved, that knowing these things beforehand, you should be on your guard, lest you be carried away by the error of lawless and wicked [persons and] fall from your own [present] firm condition [your own steadfastness of mind].

18 But grow in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honor, majesty, and splendor) both now and to the day of eternity. Amen (so be it)! 2 Peter 3

Let It Grow: The Problem

Today we look at what is wrong, what is the problem, or what is broken this could several days. the problem is not our government, the debate about abortion, the fight for marriage-same sex marriage, democrats or republicans, climate change, racism, the black live movement matter, interracial couples, changing thanksgiving to fall break or Christmas to winter break, the toilet paper crisis, the hate towards certain people because of anything like who started covid and anything else you can think of. None of those are the problem, nope not one of those is the problem with today's society. anything you can think along those lines is not the problem with America and the world.

The problem is not just sin because as it says Romans 3:23, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So, if that is not the problem that we sin because we all sin and have all fallen short of the Glory of God then what is?  Then it says in 2 Peter 3:3, To begin with, you must know and understand this, that scoffers (mockers) will come in the last days with scoffing, [people who] walk after their own fleshly desires. Right their folks they will walk after the fleshly desires as they please but is that the problem I say not. There is a far great problem that is happening In America and in the world. What is that problem? As I said it is not anything listed above, or you can think of.  An example of one of them and that is homosexuality and it says in Romans, 1:26-27, 26 For this reason God gave them over and abandoned them to vile affections and degrading passions. For their women exchanged their natural function for an unnatural and abnormal one, 27 And the men also turned from natural relations with women and were set ablaze (burning out, consumed) with lust for one another—men committing shameful acts with men and suffering in their own bodies and personalities the inevitable consequences and penalty of their wrong-doing and going astray, which was [their] fitting retribution. After reading this not even this is the problem with what is going on with this America and this world.

The greatest problem that is going on in America and in the world is... I want you to think about that today and tomorrow I will give you the answer and explain.

Mark 9:14-29

All Things Possible

14 And when they came back to the other disciples, they saw a large crowd around them, and some scribes arguing with them. 15 Immediately, when the entire crowd saw Him, they were amazed and began running up to greet Him. 16 And He asked them, “What are you disputing with them?” 17 And one person from the crowd answered Him, “Teacher, I brought You my son, because he has a spirit that makes him unable to speak; 18 and whenever it seizes him, it slams him to the ground, and he foams at the mouth and grinds his teeth and becomes stiff. And I told Your disciples so that they would cast it out, but they could not do it.” 19 And He answered them and *said, “O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!” 20 And they brought the boy to Him. When he saw Him, the spirit immediately threw him into convulsions, and falling to the ground, he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth. 21 And He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood. 22 It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to kill him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!” 23 But Jesus said to him, “‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes.” 24 Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief!” 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and do not enter him again!” 26 And after crying out and throwing him into terrible convulsions, it came out; and the boy became so much like a corpse that most of them said, “He is dead!” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him, and he got up. 28 When He came into the house, His disciples began asking Him privately, “Why is it that we could not cast it out?” 29 And He said to them, “This kind cannot come out by anything except prayer.” Mark 9:14-29

Let it Grow

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1. 19 We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 1 John 5:19. In this new series, I'm calling it Let it grow. I got this from listening to a song called Let it Grow from the movie the Lorax. At the movie's end, they are planting a tree to let it grow because what was happening wasn't working, they had to pay for air. So, one sets out to find a tree and they plant it and sing about it.

So this series will be about if things aren't working why not give God a try instead of trying things that are only a Band-Aid or do not work. Do you know what is wrong with today's society it is not the democrats or the republicans, global warming, or racism, it is the fact that we do not worship God in America or the world. The one thing that could save our great nation is the one thing that everybody wants nothing to do with. we know that we are from God, and we know that the world is evil but why not give God a try.

So, in this series will be taking a look at what is wrong, what is the problem, or what is broken this could several days. Then we will look at the solution to the problem. Then we will look at how we can start anew and what we can do.

If God created all things like the heavens and the earth, don't you think that He can fix what is going on right now if wanted to, all we have to do is.... that answer comes later in the series.

And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26.

Luke 15

15 Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near Jesus to listen to Him. And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to complain, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”

And so He told them this parable, saying, “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the other ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost!’ I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance.

The Lost Coin

“Or what woman, if she has ten silver coins and loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found the coin which I had lost!’ 10 In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

The Prodigal Son

11 And He said, “A man had two sons. 12 The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that is coming to me.’ And so he divided his wealth between them. 13 And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey to a distant country, and there he squandered his estate in wild living. 14 Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began doing without. 15 So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs. 16 And he longed to have his fill of the carob pods that the pigs were eating, and no one was giving him anything. 17 But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired laborers have more than enough bread, but I am dying here from hunger! 18 I will set out and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me as one of your hired laborers.”’ 20 So he set out and came to his father. But when he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet; 23 and bring the fattened calf, slaughter it, and let’s eat and celebrate; 24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate.

25 “Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has slaughtered the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’ 28 But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. 29 But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you never gave me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; 30 but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you slaughtered the fattened calf for him.’ 31 And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’” Luke 15

Across the Aisle: Series Wrap Up

So, with a guest list set for the table and the tools to go forth to do so, let's reflect on the words of Jesus as we wrap this series. 15 Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near Jesus to listen to Him. And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to complain, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” Luke 15:1-2. Yes, it is true Jesus ate, and with sinners and such, He walked across the aisle and ate with them. but what was the reason? To help the sick as it says in Mark 17, 17 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

but I like what he goes on to say in Luke 15, And so He told them this parable, saying, “What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the other ninety-nine in the [c]open pasture and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost!’ I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. 99 righteous people could come to Christ but the one who is a sinner brings more joy to God when he repents.

God cares more about the sinners than the righteous. He walked across the aisle to bring people who were of this nature to Himself and bring them to His Kingdom. A well person has no need for a physician, but a sick person does. the righteous were the well people and the sinners were the sick people.

So, if you remember the song from childhood, follow the leader. We need to follow our leader, Jesus, and do what He did and tried to accomplish. He walked across the aisle and ate with sinners and tax collectors and harlots and showed no shame in doing so. He knew who would listen to Him and keep His word, just like the parable of the seeds on the soil.

So go forth and make your table by walking across the aisle and just shaking someone's hand and inviting them to coffee or such.

John 4:7-45

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” For His disciples had gone away to the city to buy food. So the Samaritan woman *said to Him, “How is it that You, though You are a Jew, are asking me for a drink, though I am a Samaritan woman?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus replied to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 She said to Him, “Sir, You have no bucket and the well is deep; where then do You get this living water? 12 You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well and drank of it himself, and his sons and his cattle?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again; 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never be thirsty; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”

15 The woman *said to Him, “Sir, give me this water so that I will not be thirsty, nor come all the way here to draw water.” 16 He *said to her, “Go, call your husband and come here.” 17 The woman answered and said to Him, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this which you have said is true.” 19 The woman *said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and yet you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one must worship.” 21 Jesus said to her, “Believe Me, woman, that a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, because salvation is from the Jews. 23 But a time is coming, and even now has arrived, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be [i]His worshipers. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman *said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us.” 26 Jesus *said to her, “I am He, the One speaking to you.”

27 And at this point His disciples came, and they were amazed that He had been speaking with a woman, yet no one said, “What are You seeking?” or, “Why are You speaking with her?” 28 So the woman left her waterpot and went into the city, and *said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is He?” 30 They left the city and were coming to Him.

31 Meanwhile the disciples were urging Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat something.” 32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.” 33 So the disciples were saying to one another, “No one brought Him anything to eat, did he?” 34 Jesus *said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I tell you, raise your eyes and observe the fields, that they are white for harvest. 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and is gathering fruit for eternal life, so that the one who sows and the one who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this case the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have come into their labor.”

The Samaritans

39 Now from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days. 41 Many more believed because of His word; 42 and they were saying to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One truly is the Savior of the world.”

43 And after the two days, He departed from there for Galilee. 44 For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country. 45 So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, only because they had seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves also went to the feast. John 4:7-45

Bible verses taken from the ASV

Across the Aisle: Hello

Hello, you're going to hell repent now, or would you rather hear repent you're going to heaven. Which one sounds better to you, the repent you're going to heaven, I hope? Hello, stop sinning or you will be consumed by it and will go to hell, or hello your sinning is causing you not to have all the good things God has for you. which one sounds better? We often want to bring people to Christ so urgently that we go right to repent, hell and sinning. but is that the best way I say not, where in the bible does Jesus do this. yes, Jesus talked about repentance and so did John but not like this.

I want to talk about a new approach to this idea of bringing people to Christ and that is not to preach Christ at all but love on them and by this, they will know or ask that you are a Christian. We do not take God out of it just in the conversation at first. People are more receptive to free coffee or free bagels or bowling than to hell and repenting and sinning. These things will take time, just like a cake you cannot rush through baking it or it will taste nasty. When bringing people to Christ it is the same and we need to take time and not rush through it and by doing this put people off. 34 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. John 13:34. We are to love each other just like Jesus loved us. We are to be the light of the world. 14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; Matthew 5:14. But a lamp does nothing but be a lamp, why not then we be like Jesus and nothing else.

Let's come and bring people to Christ without making the mistakes that put people off to Christ and His message. Let us just like Jesus' show love to them and by this, you will bring them to Christ. It is all in the approach of bringing people to Christ. Again, I ask which one sounds better you are going to hell if you do not repent or repent, and you are going to Heaven? The latter sound better to me.

If this is the hour and time of the end ages, we may not have time you say but with God, there is always time. This is the hour to bring people to Christ. not to condemn them but love on then and by this, they will come to know Jesus.

Across the Aisle: Final Battle

When we last talked about across the aisle, we talked about the battle that poses. The final point that I want to make and got in my spirit is this, that is do people want to hear it. When you come like all fire and brimstone, they may not want to heat it. They might not want to hear about what they are doing in sin. They may not want to know that they are sinners right away. They may be put off by what Christians are about for example against same-sex marriage or anything you can think of. The more Churchie you get the more people can be put off. But a handshake and God loves you is the best place to start, nothing more than this needs to happen at this point. Once that has occurred invite them to coffee or to lunch or bowling or whatever you want your table to be (remember it doesn't actually have to be a table).

Can you think of a time that The Bible talks about they didn't want to hear Jesus? The pharisee and the scribes and chief priest really didn't want to hear Jesus, but I can't think of a time they actually said it. To my knowledge never hear them say shut up Jesus or silent Jesus. The people who I talked about did not like Jesus and what His message was about and tried to kill Him but never told him to be quiet.

So he cometh to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph: and Jacob’s [a]well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. For his disciples were gone away into the city to buy food. The Samaritan woman therefore saith unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: whence then hast thou that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Every one that drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14 but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up unto eternal life. John 4: 5-14

Jesus came and asked for a drink of water, He could have come and been churchie but He wasn't. He came was nice and calm and wanted to give a gift to this woman who he wasn't supposed to have dealings with because she was a Samaritan. He walked across the aisle in a sense and shook her hand not literally but figuratively. This is the model we should follow.  I will finish it up tomorrow but damming someone before you know them is never a good idea and goes against everything the Bible talks about.

1 Thessalonians 5

But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief: for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that are drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God appointed us not unto wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.

12 But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves. 14 And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all. 15 See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all. 16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward. 19 Quench not the Spirit; 20 despise not prophesyings; 21 prove all things; hold fast that which is good; 22 abstain from every form of evil.

23 And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.

25 Brethren, pray for us.

26 Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss. 27 I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 1Thessalonians 5
