Luke 24:2-3 says, And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
The stone was rolled away, I can picture this in my mind as being a big round stone in front of where they buried Jesus and that it would have taken several men to roll it in place. So, when the stone was rolled away when they came, I would be perplexed by this that he was not there. They had thought that he was stolen, with whom Jesus was that is not something that would have not been thought of if I had been there. But where was He?
Jesus Picked up his cross and was led to be crucified. 1 Peter 2:24 says, and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. Because He picked up his cross, He paid the ultimate price for us. So, for our sins He died. So where was He?
Jesus foretells of his resurrection in the bible before it is to happen. Mark 9;31 says, For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be [q]handed over to men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.” So, Jesus picked up his cross to be crucified then to rise three days later. This is Something to shout hallelujah for!!!! the Lord Jesus beat death and is in heaven with his father.
What does the resurrection mean for us? It means that Jesus is alive and is with us everyday. He is not someone that is dead but alive. He was showing us that He is God.
So, the greatest example of some picking up there cross is Jesus, who was crucified, buried and rose again in victory.
HE IS RISEN!!!!!
Take this in your heart and go forth with your cross that you picked up and follow Him with gladness and joy.
But far be it from me
to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which
the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14
