24 and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24. Jesus brought all our sins to the cross so, that we could live without sin and live for righteousness. Since Jesus did this we are to not sin and be righteous. By Jesus doing this we are to be healed. Hurray no more sin, it's all taken away. No that is not how it works, yes Jesus did die for our sins, and we might die to sin. The truth is we still sin and if you say I don't sin you are lying to God, and He knows it already so be truthful to him as he knows all anyways.
Jesus cannot keep going to the cross and dying for our sins. As it happened in the bible no, He is now sitting in heaven. But to our sins, we can still take them to the cross and lay them at the feet of the cross and give them to Jesus to take away when we repent of our sins. Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; Acts 3:19. We are to repent, so our sins can be wiped away. We are still to give our sins to Jesus, so we are without sin and live for righteousness.
To be like Him, to be imitators of Jesus we need to get rid of all sins we have. Confess them at the foot of the cross and be wiped clean so we can be without sin and live for righteousness. What sin do you need to confess today to Jesus so you can be more like Him? Take time to confess your sins. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. But we have to confess all our sins, we cannot confess the one we want to. It does not work like that we have to confess all our sins to Him and lay them at the foot of the cross. To point out here you may not know you are sinning so I suggest to start off with as you do this is to seek Jesus and ask Him if there is any sin you do not know of and to have it revealed to you so you can repent of that sin and be more like Jesus. Once you have left the sin at the foot of the cross do not take it back because of guilt or shame or anything else.
Once you give something to Jesus never take it back just know that Jesus will take care of it. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10. God is with us and will always help those who are His children. So, take time today to ask and repent of your sins to be more like Him. Have a Blessed day!!!!
