Seek Ye First: Language

I caught myself swearing yesterday and repented right after I did it. No one is perfect including me and I will be the first to say it. First, we talked about hell talk then Jesus' talk, today we will be talking about swearing or bad talk. Negative brings negative. But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation. James 5:12. We are not to swear at all according to this verse. Not at all period, it's that simple, well I wish it was. we often swear and do not even know it or do it accidentally. We all do it from time to time. So, stop it now. It is that simple what is not simple is that when we know when we do it or that we do it so, think of it that it is a problem even if not, and make corrections to fix the problem.

If you put effort into something you can correct it. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16. Even God talks about correction in this verse. He will use His word for that, and God will help correct the language we use. But we first have to first seek His kingdom and let the things that we need not think about because they will be added, given, and taken care of according to the bible and focus on the other things.

Today meditate on the language you use and make corrections. Instead of swearing say praise God for all things that happen because of God good or bad. Give God Glory in the good, bad, and the ugly today.
