Seek Ye First: Imitators of Christ!!!!

23 and while being abusively insulted, He did not insult in return; while suffering, He did not threaten, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 and He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed. 1 Peter 2:23-24. Yesterday we left off with verse 23 but want I to keep on this verse. No matter what people did to Jesus, He did not repay them for evil or do anything but show compassion and mercy to them. This is crazy right; someone beats you and mocks you and you still pray for them and forgive them. that is just one example of the beating and mocking of Jesus. The pharisee wanted to kill Jesus but he did nothing to them to stop them. Even when one of the disciples cut off the ear look at what Jesus said. But Jesus responded and said, “Stop! No more of this.” And He touched his ear and healed him. Luke 22:51. Jesus was going to be killed in a very painful; way and had every right to want to do harm to them and for the disciples to do the same but being holy and Blameless without sin choose not to do anything against the.

God himself shows us how we are to live by him not doing this. We are to live holy and blameless and without sin just as he did, but we will all fall short of that, but we are to try to strive to be like Jesus and What he stands/stood for. The things that Jesus stood for were Heaven and His Kingdom, truth, salvation, repentance, hope, forgiveness, and righteousness. these are things that Jesus stood for, so we are to strive to stand for those things as well.

Do you stand for these things that are listed above?

Do you stand for His kingdom and Heaven?

Do you stand for truth (God's truth)?

Do you stand for Salvation and repentance?

Do you stand for hope and forgiveness?

Do you stand for righteousness?

Take a look at your life and see if you stand for the same things Jesus stands for and if not make adjustments to your life so you can look and live more like Jesu did. Tomorrow we will finish up verse 23 and then move on to verse 24.

Have a blessed day!!!!
