Seek Ye First: Language and Update Rolled Into One...

I caught myself yesterday swearing and using God's name wrong. Nothing happens overnight, so I will keep working on this. I tell you this to tell you that I am not perfect and this whole challenge will not always go smoothly or right all the time. But that gets me to think about how important language is to our Christian walk. Meaning as I am aware of what I am saying I am, I didn't realize how much I do it, my goal is to get closer to God but when I say stuff like it brings me further from God. When we give glory to God or acknowledge we need to do it in the right way.

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29. Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer. psalm 19:14.

We are not to have corrupt speech come out of our mouths, but it does. We are to use good speech to edify that it may minister grace to the people who hear it. It doesn't mean we will be perfect, but we are to strive to be perfect in this area. I have anxiety over this and need to declare Psalm 141:3 over my mouth and my life, let God do his work, and keep on Seeking Him first in the morning and throughout the day. If I let this run my life, I will be all about this and probably do it more. So just like you with this problem capture it first thing in the morning so it doesn't get bigger and a problem throughout the day. let our speech be like Psalms 19:14, let it be acceptable in your sight God. All Bible verses taken from the KJV

Let what we say and speak magnify the name of Jesus and lift up the name of Jesus to the nations.

Dear God

I give you my speech today

Help me and guide me in my Speech

Let what I, say magnify You Jesus.

Let what I feel about this be taken from me and let you take control and take over (Let my anxiety be gone and take control and take over this area of my life)

In Jesus's Name,

Amen
