Yesterday we talked about the language we use that is unholy or something we say that gives reverence or an inch to the devil. Today I want to flip that around and say the same about God.
Jesus Christ!!!!
Jesus!!!!
D**m it Jesus
In Jesus's Name
(They may be more)
All these seem harmless except the third one but when they are said in a certain way, they can be dishonoring to God. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Exodus 20:7. we are not to use God or any of His names in a dishonoring way. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23. We have all sinned in this area and we all fall short of the glory of God when it comes to this and if you say you haven't you are lying to yourself.
But just as the effects of what we talked about yesterday are the effect of saying these things are far greater because of who God is and what he deserves. For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. Psalms 96:4. God is greatly to be praised not to be dishonored or His name used in a way that does not give Him glory. We are to glorify Jesus and His Kingdom, not to bring down the Kingdom or use it in a way that is dishonoring to Him.
I've talked about building people up with what we say, should we not be building up the Kingdom in the same way. Take time today to examine your speech in this way and if you know that you do, make changes and stop this foolish talk If you are not sure you do it take time and see if you do and if you do, make changes and stop this foolish talk.
Have A Blessed Day!!!
