Seek Ye First: Response.

Today we continue our talk on responding/response. did you look at how you respond yesterday? Do you think you respond right? 19 Ye know this, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: James 1:19.  How we respond to matters is how the situation will go or how the outcome will be. If we look at this verse above, we are to be swift to hear but slow to speak. We are to be swift in what we hear in a situation or matter but not be quick or swift in our response. We are to have a slow response and I know that seems a bit odd in a world that wants answers in an instant.20 for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. James 1:20. this is the next verse after verse 19 and the wrath, the part when we respond quickly it is not of the righteousness of God but of man. This is so important to know that when we respond wrong, we are not doing it in the righteousness of God.

If as I said yesterday, we are to be like Christ we need to respond as he would.48 Ye therefore shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48. your response shows your character, and the fruits of what God is and has done in your life. if call yourself a Christian respond to things in a way that is unholy or of this world how ill people know that you are Christian.

Every time you need to respond even to your wife, your son or your mother look at it through the lens of Jesus and see if that response is the way He would respond. Look to Jesus to respond even getting milk for your son at all hours of the night maybe that's just me. Let what flows from our mouth build up and be that up love and kindness. 29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for edifying as the need may be, that it may give grace to them that hear. we are to have corrupt speech according to the verse, but we do.for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23. We will all fall short of this but let us be like Christ in this area instead of dwelling on that we fall short.
