I was listening to the song Cry Out by Refresh Worship featuring Naomi Raine and she was talking about in situation she could not control, God says you have two things' decisions and your praise. She went on to say that we allow everything to dictate our praise.
When I heard that it hit me like a ton of bricks. It was a major revelation for me. Our praise should be the same no matter what comes our way. Our circumstances should not dictate our praise, but our praise should dictate our circumstances. I'll say it again to let it sink in our circumstances should not dictate our praise, but our praise should dictate our circumstances.
Picture waves in the ocean- these waves are our lives. In life, we have ups and downs like waves in the ocean. But through all that we are to a constant that is our praise. No matter what comes we are to have the same praise. In good times we have the same praise, and the bad times we are to same praise. If you know your Bible then you about the verse in Hebrews 13:8 (ASV) which says, 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, yea and for ever. If He is the same all the time, why is our praise different in different circumstances. Our praise should be like the line you do not want to see on a heart monitor one straight line. No matter what comes our way we should have the same kind of praise.
