Today's biblical Hero is Daniel. His name in Hebrew means God is my judge and was the city of Jerusalem. Daniel was a prophet who listened and obeyed God, had great wisdom, and was a man of integrity. 3 Then the king told Ashpenaz, the chief of his officials, to bring in some of the sons of Israel, including some of the royal family and of the nobles. Daniel 1: 3 NASB. There is not much known about the family of David, but we do know that He came from a royal or noble family by the verse above.
He was taken captive by the king of Babylon Nebuchadnezzar ll. The king wanted to retrain Daniel and others to wipe out their past and become like them. the first thing Daniel does is not the king's food which he thought would defile Him. But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8 NASB. He wanted to stay holy and pure for God.
Because Daniel Found favor in God he was able to do a great many things. Now God granted Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the commander of the officials. Daniel 1:9. He was given the ability to interpret dreams and Daniel was able to interpret the kings. 12 This was because an extraordinary spirit, knowledge and insight, interpretation of dreams, explanation of riddles, and solving of difficult problems were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Let Daniel now be summoned and he will declare the interpretation.” 5:12 NASB.
Daniel goes up against lions and is not eaten. He stayed True to His God and God was with Him for that. That is why he is a biblical hero.
Read and take a look at this great biblical hero of God. Meditate on what He was able to accomplish.
Have a day of reading Daniel!!!
