Isaiah

Today's biblical hero is Isaiah, He is a prophet of the Old Testament and is well known for being one. His name means Jehovah Saves or Salvation of Jehovah. From what I have read they believe that He is from a prominent family or even royalty. Isaiah was to bring back Israel and Judah back to God and to be faithful to him again and to proclaim the coming of the Messiah. His message to the people was to convict them, condemn them, to bring hope, and to the people. 10 Hear the word of the Lord, You rulers of Sodom; Listen to the instruction of our God, You people of Gomorrah! Isaiah 1:10 NASB. He was instructed by God on what to say and do all His life.  

In the first 39 chapters, He talks about the sins of kingdoms and tells them of severe punishment.16  “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Stop doing evil,17 Learn to do good;

Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor, Obtain justice for the orphan, Plead for the widow’s case. Isaiah 1:16-17 NASB. In these verses, it tells that they should stop doing evil and make themselves clean by washing themselves, then it shifts to what they should be doing. He then shifts to talk about the coming of the Christ Jesus.  14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 NASB. He talks about Jesus coming being the Messiah. 

In the rest of the chapters, He talks about restoration and new heaven and earth. 6 “This is what the Lord says, He who is the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of armies: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me. Isaiah 44:6 NASB. “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. Isaiah 65:17 NASB. 

Isaiah is the most well-known prophet of the Old Testament who did many things for the people of Israel. He prophesied many things to the people of Israel and is considered to be a major prophetic because of the amount that He wrote. He also is said to be an evangelistic prophet because he preached a lot about the coming Of Jesus. What Isaiah talks about, and prophesies comes true in the New Testament. 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 NASB.
