But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
What is it talking about, and all things shall be added unto you? It is key to add that Matthew says all, and Luke does not say all. So, let's first look at Matthew to see what shall be added unto you.
Let's start at verse 25, Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than the food, and the body than the raiment? we are not to worry about what we are to eat or drink or what we are to wear God will provide these things they shall be added unto us. Verse 32 says, For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. God Knows we need food to eat, water to drink, and clothes to well so we are not to worry about those things. In verse 28 it goes on further to say that we are not to worry about clothing, but we are to observe the lilies. verse 28, And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin.
If we then look at verse 31, Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? So, let's look at verse 26 for an example, Behold the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; and your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are not ye of much more value than they? We are of much more value than the birds of the sky are we not? The verse answers the question because the question is the answer. We are of more value than the birds of the sky.
God knows all that we need like clothing, food, and drink. This is what shall be added unto us if we seek first ye His Kingdom according to Matthew. Tomorrow we will talk about what shall be added unto us in Luke 12:1. Have a blessed day!!!
