How to Glorify God When You Have Emotion?

You know this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Now everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speakand slow to anger; James 1:9. How to glorify God when You have emotion?

So, we are to be quick to hear and slow to speak, let that sink in. When something is said we are to quickly hear it and then we are to be slow to respond. But this world wants everything instantly. People want an answer instantly, like right now but that in most cases is not the best way to go. If someone asks how you are doing and you respond good right away that is kind of a no-brainer that you can answer quickly. But if someone asks about let's say divorce and what they should do? We probably have an answer as well all do. but in this and instances/situations we should be quick to listen but slow to respond.

Why do we do this, speak quickly? we often speak quickly because we often think we know it all and if we don't, we can just come up with something that will help, or we heard something and think it will help. Most often that kind of thinking only does harm verse you think it will do good.

The best thing we can do sometimes is wait and speak slowly, give it to God in prayer and seek his answer instead of inserting our own. we often muck things up because we tend to speak quickly when we are not ready to answer, or our answer is not right but you said it anyway. I tend to want to quickly respond. when I do this, I tend not to think it through, and usually gets me in trouble.

today as to what you have read today I want to do something different before I finish today. everyone take time to examine if you are slow to speak or quick to speak and if you are quick to speak find ways and seek God's counsel to help you curb this negative thing. this type of speech leads to negative emotions which are of the devil and are not good to have in our lives.

So how do we worship when we do this? Pray and ask God to help you in this battle because remember the battle belongs to the Lord but that doesn't we sit back and do nothing, we have to worship and ask God to help us, we each have a part in this.

Dear God

I thank you and praise you

for you are good

please help to be quick to listen and to be slow to respond

Help my tongue only have the wisdom that comes from You

In all things you are glorious and wonderful

In Jesus Name

Amen

He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin.” Proverbs 13:3
