The Bible is made up of 66 books, with 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. I was all set to talk about Joel but I feel my spirit leading me in another direction. It is this that the whole Bible is of great worth and was written with everything it was supposed to have. Every book of the Bible has value and worth from Chronicles which we talked about yesterday to Ezra to Amos. All 66 books of the bible have value. So, why do we not use verses or read out of all the books of the Bible?
We all know the most famous verse by heart John 3:16. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV. But do we know Joel 2:2 most I think not? There are so many books of the Bible I call uncommon books because we do not read or use them.
I am reading through the Bible one chapter at a time, one a day (2 chapters at the beginning). Not because I am slow but because I actually want to understand what I am reading not just read to say that I read the Bible. I told myself that I wanted to read an extra chapter to get through the names listed in Chronicles, but I have not done it. I have decided to not power read through things like that and gain what God has for me in these types of verses Why? because All the Bible and all Its verses have power!!! Amen hallelujah to that. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Matthew 24:35 ESV. If something like the Bible is a forever kind of thing it must be the most powerful book every written all of that Book should be treated as such.
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 2 Timothy 3:16 ESV. It doesn't say some of the verses of the Bible are good for this, but it says all Scripture is good for teaching, reproof, for correction, and training.
It all boils down to taking the whole Bible as it is and use all of it and read all of it. I will paint a picture of this more tomorrow is my plan, but God may have other plans, that is who leads me in my writing.
