Today as it is Thanksgiving, I will be taking a break from the current series to talk about giving thanks. what does this day mean to you? Is it about just food, a parade, football, or having the day off? To me, it means being with family, good food, and most importantly giving thanks to God. We are to take this day and give thanks to God for what he has done in our lives. And whatsoever ye do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17. We are to give thanks to God our Father. in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward. 1 Thessalonians 5:18. We are to give thanks for everything. Today I ask you to take time and do what this holiday is actually for God, to come and to pray and give him thanks and seek Him, on this day. I would rather have a relationship with Jesus which means eternal life than a deal on a big tv or anything you can think of. As this message is short it is for a reason so you can take time to do what really matters and that is to worship and give thanks to Christ.
