Across the Aisle...

Again, this morning I was reading about how Jesus was eating with Tax collectors and sinners. 32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not; but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye saw it, did not even repent yourselves afterward, that ye might believe him. Matthew 21:32. In those days just like today Tax collectors were not considered very good people they were looked down upon. Have you ever met a tax collector that you liked? Prostitutes came to Jesus and believed in Him. Leapers came and believed in him. What a sight that would have been Jesus eating at the table with all these people. 15 And it came to pass, that he was sitting at meat in his house, and many publicans and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. Mark 2:15. the bible is clear that he did this. Why because he walked across the aisle to bring people the good news and to bring people to His Kingdom. Instead of staying on the aisle with the chief priest and such who he knew would never get it instead he walked across the aisle and ministered to the least the last and lost.

He didn't care if it was right or not, he knew that it was more important than what it meant for His status or His image or what people thought, He walked across anyways. He knew the value of a life in Him rather than a value in the flesh, a status, or an image. It is riddled throughout the Old Testament about Jesus not caring what the pharisees and chief priests thought. he cared more about the kingdom and God and constantly did what was not to be done or considered right by those people because he walked across the aisle and didn't care what they thought. He had a mission from God, and He aimed to accomplish that mission at all costs.

Take time today, to imagine what the picture would have looked like at that table for tomorrow we will discuss this further.
