To outreach to people on Halloween. So, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us; we [as Christ’s representatives] plead with you on behalf of Christ to be reconciled to God. II Corinthians 5:20. We are to first seek ye his kingdom and then to give thanks for what God has done for us. Yet seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you. Luke 12:31. Finally we are to celebrate the birth of Jesus and all that goes along with the birth. Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, And they shall call his name Immanuel; Matthew 1:23.
For each of these holidays and Christmas, we look at the History and the origin. Halloween started and then we moved on to thanksgiving and how it got started then we finished with Christmas and the Birth of Jesus.
For each of these, we looked at the biblical significance of each one of these holidays and Christmas. for Halloween, there was no biblical significance but to outreach to people. And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and publicans, said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? Mark 2:16. we are to outreach to the same people Jesu ministered to and tried to help. we then looked at the biblical significance of Thanksgiving. it is dripping with biblical significance. I will praise the name of God with a song, And will magnify him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30. we then looked at Christmas and it is all about the birth of Christ which is in the bible several times and referred to just as much throughout the bible. for there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11.
We then look at ways to reach people on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I gave three outreach ideas for each holiday and Christmas. From creating parties to bringing people to church or serving people in need no matter what you do outreach on all these holidays and Christmas is required.
To sum it all up as this series come to end is to look at each holiday and Christmas with a new lens, a new light, in a new way. Dust off what you know about each holiday and Christmas and come with fresh eyes. For each holiday and Christmas find (new) ways to outreach to people. Don't overlook Halloween if you are a Christian use, it to bring people to Christ. Have a blessed day!!!
