Christmas Outreach: Serving...

For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45. Today we will be talking about serving in the Christmas season. For just as Jesus did not come to be ministered/serve to, we also are called to do the very same and do as Jesus did. When I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5. We are to be the light of Jesus to the world. as I talked about in this series, we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus. As long as we are in the world like Jesus, we are to be like Him and do what he started. We are to be this every day but more during the Christmas season.

in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. Romans 12:11. According to the verse we are to serve the Lord. When people think of serving God, they think it is just serving God not others but serving God is serving others because that is part of serving God. For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45. For if we are to serve and do what the son of man came to do, we are called to serve others. That would be weird if Jesus came to minister to himself right. indeed, it would be, so that is why we know and have in our hearts that Jesus came to minister to the least, last, and lost. The tax collectors, the prostitutes, and the sinner's examples of the ones Jesus came to minister to.

Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor]. 1 peter 4:10. to bring home further that we are to be like Jesu and serve/minister to others just look at the verse above and see for yourself. (Never take my word for it look at it and see yourself in the Bible). We are to use the gifts that God has given us not for our own glory or for use in our lives alone but to bring Glory to God and to serve others to bring them to God.

I do not call you servants any longer, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you [My] friends, because I have revealed to you everything that I have heard from My Father. John15:15. We were servants of God, but we are no longer for we know God and His kingdom and that makes us friends of God. Everything that comes from the Bible is from God, it is from the father and has been made known to us just like the verse. So, if we have been made aware of this, we should serve others and use what God has given to us to serve.

All that was said today can be boiled down to this one point Just like the son of man came not to be ministered/served to, we should do as Jesus did and not expect to be ministered to or served but minister and serve others so that they can come to faith in Jesus. Have a blessed day!!!
