Make Hymns New, Bringing Back what was Lost: Wrap Up

My prayer as we end this series is to keep looking and listening to hymns, to keep them in your heart, and to give them reverence like the Bible. We looked at what a hymn is and then we moved on and look at the history of hymns then we took a look at 5 hymns their history and biblical significance. After all that we look at how hymns can be made new then we finished how we can bring hymns into our lives today.

This series is near and dear to my heart because I love hymns and their significance in my life. When I think of my grandpa from my dad's side I never knew until his funeral that his favorite hymn was When the Roll is Called Up Yonder. I listen to that hymn today and it makes me happy and sad in a good way today. hymns have impacted my life and can do the same for you. It's not her favorite but when think of my grandma on my Mom's I think of the hymn Bringing in the Sheaves which I shared with her, and she connected with the hymn. these are a few of my favorite hymns now because of the significance of the hymns that I can connect with my grandparents. So, for me, hymns are not just some old songs that were sung long ago but they have meaning to me in this day and age. My grandfather on my mom's side was Catholic and I picture him sitting in that church and singing hymns.

One of the greatest things that I want to share with my son is hymns, their significance to me, and the richness and history of these songs. I want my son to know these things are important just like the Bible and all that is of the Christian faith.

So, keep looking up hymns and listening to them. Create a book of hymns you like and look and read them often, reading them has meaning just as listening to them does if not more. reading them in your own voice is powerful.

Dear God

I pray that we keep hymns in our hearts and in our soul

I pray that we keep seeking hymns and never let them die

I pray for hymns to be meaningful for all who listen to them

I thank You and praise You for hymns and the making of hymns and their meaning

In Jesus Name

Amen
