The third gift God gives us is prophesy.
Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 1 Corinthian 14:1 ESV
What is prophecy?
Prophecy put simply is a word or message from God.
If you read your Bible, you will hear of prophets and what they told the people of Israel and such that is what prophecy is.
A good example of this is Jeremiah, the weeping prophet.
It is God telling us his plans, will, direction, and reproof to His people.

“The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers—it is to him you shall listen— Deuteronomy 18:15 ESV
But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:20-22 ESV
Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up. 1 Corinthians 14:5 ESV
The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. 1 Corinthians 14:4 ESV
Accept and praise God for prophecy today as the gift that is freely given to you for Tomorrow, we look at the fourth gift from God.
