Sinner than Saints: Turning Verse

So, we been looking at the saints and how they act. We look at saints of the day in the Bible and learned the saint of today are the same and have the same charge as those of the Bible. We learned how they do one thing on the outside and are another way on the inside and more. In all the movies where there are saints, I never see them happy or laughing, instead they are angry or bitter or mourning.

So, a few days ago, I asked this question:

What verse is the turning point for this idea we are talking about?

The answer is found in Matthew and also in Mark:

Then it happened that as Jesus was reclining at the table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and began dining with Jesus and His disciples. Matthew 9:10 NASB

And it happened that He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners were dining with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many of them, and they were following Him. Mark 2:15 NASB

To go further:

And hearing this, Jesus *said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17 NASB

31 And Jesus answered and said to them, It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.” Luke 4:23-32 NASB

Both these verses are the turning point for the idea we have been talking about?

Before I move on, I want to share the response of the saints of the day.

The Pharisees and their scribes began grumbling to His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?” Luke 5:30 NASB

And both the Pharisees and the scribes began to complain, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” Luke 15:2 NASB

Why would Jesus want to be with sinners?

Why not be with saints of the day?

What do these verse that were shared today tell us about what Jesus was doing?
