So, with all that has been presented, would you rather laugh with the sinners or cry with the saints?
Sinners' traits- Joyful, willing to listen, recognized Jesus, recognized they were sinners, were not double-minded, did not point fingers. These are just some of the traits of a sinner.
Saint's traits- double-mined, dried-up old prune, finger-pointing, clean on the outside but dirty inside, loved honor, wanted what they did to be known by all, they only cared about their outward appearance, they liked to mourn, did not recognize they were sinners, did not recognize Jesus. These are just some of the traits of Saint.
So, would it be like someone called Billy Joel to want to sing about being with a sinner rather than a saint?
I know so not because I have the answer, but because the Bible tells us we are to be if we are striving to be like Jesus.
And it happened that He was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners were dining with Jesus and His disciples; for there were many of them, and they were following Him. Mark 2:15 NASB
And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17 NASB
Jesus had encounters with the saints but always managed to be with the sinners in some way.
Jesus came for the sick (sinners) not to those who were righteous (saints).
We are to be and live like Jesus (at least strive to).
I'll ask it a different way would strive to be like Jesus or not strive to like Jesus?
For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. John 13:15 ESV
Whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked. 1 John 2:6 ESV
So again, I ask which you would rather be with sinners or saints? Answer and go and be that group you chose?
but be careful there is a wrong answer, do you agree or disagree?
