But the fruit of the Spirit is meekness.
There is not much that talks about meekness but according to the Cambridge Bible for school and college it says, a grace of the soul which consists in habitual submission to the dealing of God.
It goes further to say, arising from a sense of His greatness, and the man's own littleness and sin.
From all that I read and gathered I still didn't understand so I kept digging and found an answer for us on Patheos which says, being humble and gentle towards others and willing to submissive and obedient to God.
So, to be meekness according to the Bible we need to be humble and gentle towards others and be submissive and obey God.
This idea of meekness is starting to make sense to me, and I hope it makes sense to you.
We are learning about this together.
What do you desire? That I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness? 1 Corinthians 4:21 NASB
Some versions say meekness instead of kindness.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Colossians 3:12 KJV
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Ephesians 4:2 KJV.
Again we see love with meekness.
Love is and then the other fruits come into play as I have seen so far that is true.
What is meekness to you?
Do you show and are meekness in your Christian walk?
Is meekness dealing with love?
I pray for meekness to wash over us today
I pray for meekness to be who we are
In Jesus Name
Amen
