 A pastor at our church recently talked about music. He talked about Taylor Swift and Doja Cat and their impact on society.

I wanted to dive into this today (with the direction of God).

How many know that the devil himself once resided in heaven, was God's most beloved, and was the choirmaster.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to chains of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; 2 Peter 2:4 ESV. 

God sent his most beloved choirmaster with the rest of the angels to hell until judgment day. Does God get sad? If He does that would have been a day that God would be sad.

The most beloved Choirmaster God sent to hell. he was most certainly not happy about being sent to hell. can you blame him, I would be not happy being in hell in the eternal fire?

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Colossians 3:5 ESV

These very things we are to put to death the devil uses to explode through music. he uses the one area he used to be in charge of.

a good example of this is Sam Smith and his new music. My pastor was talking about a song Doja Cat sang about the devil. He first talked about Taylor Swift being a witch. These types of artists have thousands of followers and in Taylor's case millions. This is what the devil wants for us. he wants us to listen to this music so that we are torn away from God and his ways. The devil wants us to worship him not God.

Abstain from every form of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 ESV.
