We have been talking about movies and what we watch. We have been looking at what our eyes watch and see.
Do the movies you watch lead you toward Christ or away from Christ?
If the movies, you watch do not lead you toward Christ what steps can you take to stop watching them?
Think about these questions today!!!
22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, 23 but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! Matthew 6:22-23 ESV
Use the verses above and use it to see if it is worth watching or seeing.
Your eyes are Godly.
The eyes are the lamp.
So, is what you want to watch or see worth darkness or light.
Then decide.
To tell you my lamp has changed as I grow older, I used to be all about teen films. Now it is more about being good than being a teen film that most of the time has stuff we shouldn't see as Christians. I'd rather watch about Hosea than a Bear who takes drugs or a guy who has a ring.
I watched Da Vinci Code and Twilight not because I was excited to watch them but to see what all the hype was about. The first I mentioned was said to have the truth about Church and religion, but it wasn't. I never watched Friends when it was popular. I only watched it later to see what the hype was about.
I tell you the things above to tell you that I watched them to see the hype not because it was something I was into or wanted to be popular.
Da Vinci Code Made 77,073,388 in the opening weekend.
Twilight made 69,673,740 in the opening weekend.
Amazing Love: the story of Hosea does not have numbers as to how much it made.
Facing the Giants made 10,243,159 made this much money to date.
The difference is clear!!!!
I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. Psalm 101:3 ESV
