John 8:1-12

 Jesus the Light of the World

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

11 She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:1-12 NKJV

Forgiving Streisand....

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25 KJV

For years I thought about a concert where Streisand had someone dress like the president and mock Him. and then someone through their drink in Her face and I always liked the person who did it because I thought that what She did was wrong. Recently I was asked to make a list of people I need to forgive. I had some family on there and other people. I also had artists of Christian music even K-love. But did I remember to put Streisand (Barbara)? This Got me to think is it better to forgive than to harbor ill feelings in my heart.

32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 NKJV

This got me think of people like Nacy Polsi, our president, and so on and so forth.

Forgiven!!!! (From my heart).

This morning I thought of the verse where Jesus was with a person who was caught in adultery and the Pharisees who wanted to stone her for it.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” John 8:7 NKJV
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:11 NKJV

Jesus forgave her!!!

Not one of us has not screwed up and sinned according to the Bible. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 NKJV

So, why should we not forgive? All we do in the process of not forgiving is build up resentment, grudges, dislike, condemnation, blame, and punishment for others.

It is not our job to judge it is our job to forgive.

So, I go back to where we started and say that today I forgive Streisand for anything she has done that I didn't like, and the same with the others.

If Jesus can forgive people who beat him, took his clothes, and cast lots for them.

16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him. Luke 23:16 NKJV
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Luke 23:16 NKJV

Then why can't we forgive?

Write a list of people to forgive and pray a prayer of forgiveness for them then go and burn your list to God and let all that surrounded you in that built up of what you harbored be washed away and leave the rest to God!!!

The only thing not forgiving does is punish you, not anyone else!!!! People do not care if you have a grudge or such against them.

Forgive today! Set those captives free from your body today!!!

Psalm 20

    Prayer for Victory over Enemies.

From the Music director. A psalm of David.

20

May the Lord answer you on a day of trouble!

May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!

May He send you help from the sanctuary,

And support you from Zion!

May He remember all your meal offerings

And accept your burnt offering! Selah

May He grant you your heart’s desire

And fulfill your whole plan!

We will sing for joy over your victory,

And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.

May the Lord fulfill all your desires.

Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;

He will answer him from His holy heaven

With the saving strength of His right hand.

Some praise their chariots and some their horses,

But we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.

They have bowed down and fallen,

But we have risen and stood upright.

Save, Lord;

May the King answer us on the day we call. Psalm 20 NASB

Study of Psalm 20-verse 7,8 & 9

Some praise their chariots and some their horses,

But we will praise the name of the Lord, our God.

8 They have bowed down and fallen,

But we have risen and stood upright.

9 Save, Lord;

May the king answer on that day we call.

Verse 7

Praises- some Bibles say trust some say boast

When the word trust is used it is not in the Hebrew language, but it is the most translated word that they are talking about.

In the first part of seven, they are talking about using those things to reference war and going to war.

Praise- but we will remember the name, some versions use remember.

The second part of this verse references to remembering the Name of the Lord.

17 A horse is a false hope for victory;
Nor does it rescue anyone by its great strength. Psalm 33:17

With him is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah. 2 Chronicles 32:8

Verse 8

The first part of verse eight talks about what from I researched it is that they are talking about coming victory over the enemy and that the enemy will bow down.

But we have risen and stood upright- means that we stood at battle as conquers used to do.

11 The proud look of humanity will be brought low,
And the arrogance of people will be humbled;
And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day. Isaiah 2:11

17 And the pride of humanity will be humbled
And the arrogance of people will be brought low;
And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day, Isaiah 2:11

24 24 When he falls, he will not be hurled down,
Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand. Psalm 37:24

Do not rejoice over me, enemy of mine.
Though I fall I will rise;
Though I live in darkness, the Lord is a light for me. Micah 7:8

Verse 9

Save Lord- Yahweh saves.

Save the King

The second part of the verse is what I have read is for God to hear us for us to be delivered to deliver.

Strength by seeking Him in times when we need help.

7 Arise, Lord; save me, my God!
For You have struck all my enemies on the cheek;
You have shattered the teeth of the wicked. Psalm 3:7

6 I have called upon You, for You will answer me, God;
Incline Your ear to me, hear my speech. Pslam 17:6

Study of Psalm 20 -Verse 5 & 6

 We will sing for joy over your victory,

And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.

May the Lord fulfill all your desires.

6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;

He will answer him from His holy heaven

With the saving strength of His right hand.

Verse 5

The first part of the verse, it talks we will sing for joy about victory.

From what I read what it means to set up our banner means to wave our banner in triumph. it was setting up banners or trophies to celebrate honoring God. This kind of banner from what I read, refers to In the name of God.

Let us sing instead of we will sing. salvation instead of victory. these things are referred in my Bible.

14 So that I may tell of all Your praises,
That in the gates of the daughter of Zion
I may rejoice in Your salvation. Psalm 9:14

4 You have given a banner to those who fear You,
That it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah Psalm 60:4

17 Then Eli answered and said, “Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your request that you have asked of Him.”1 Samual 1:17

Verse 6

In the first part of the verse, if we are anointed in God, He will save us.

The next part is that He God will answer from the holy place which is in heaven. From what I have read the meaning of His holiness of heaven means that the dwelling place of God. that he will find and give favor and answer our petitions.

The last part of the verse talks about the hand of God which from what I researched means that God will hear us and may use a strong arm to do it.

In my Bible, it points out that it was said, mighty deeds of the victory of His right hand.

11 By this I know that You are pleased with me,
Because my enemy does not shout in triumph over me. Psalm 41:11

9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
You will cry for help, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you remove the yoke from your midst,
The pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness, Isaiah 58:9

8 The Lord is their strength,
And He is a refuge of salvation to His anointed. Psalm 28:8

Study of Psalm 20-Verse 3 & 4

 3 May He remember all your meal offerings

And accept your burnt offering! Selah

4 May He grant you your heart’s desire

And fulfill your whole plan!

Verse 3

Meal offering was also called a grain offering or in the KJV Meat offering. This type of offering was not one that was used with blood. In Hebrew, it is referred to as Korban Minchah which means to give a present. in one text I read it says give a present to God.

Burnt offering- It was an offering meant for the atonement of sins. This kind of offering was used with animals that were sacrificed and then put on an altar to be burned as an offering to God. The highest order of sacrifice in the Old Testament was the Burnt offering. it was called olah in Hebrew.

And he looked at him intently and became terrified, and said, “What is it, lord?” And he said to him, “Your prayers and charitable gifts have ascended as a memorial offering before God. Acts 10:4

Then You will delight inrighteous sacrifices,
In burnt offering and whole burnt offering;
Then bulls will be offered on Your altar. Psalm 51:19

Verse 4

We know that by the capital of He it is referring to God. May God grant you your Hearts desires. God wants to fulfill your whole plan according to this verse. In the heading of this psalm in My NASB Bible, it says prayer for victory over enemies, so it is safe to assume that it is talking about that kind of plan to have victory over enemies.  In my Bible says counsel or purpose (physical Bible).

2 You have given him his heart’s desire,
And You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah Psalm 21:2

19 He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also hear their cry for help and save them. Psalm 145:19
