We looked at Job chapter 1 yesterday and as we close this series, we will look at Job chapter two and then sum up the whole series.
We learned yesterday all that Job lost and still stood for God and did not sin. Job again had something happen to him which made him sick with sores all over his body from his feet to his head. 7 So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head. Job 2:7 NKJV. After this, he sinned and cursed God, right? No, let's look at the verses after this happened. 9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!” 10 But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips. Job 2:9-10 NKJV. He would not curse God and through it all, he did not sin, he stood for God through it all.
I could not imagine having all those sores on his body and feeling something, he felt, the way he did. I as most would say why me God, I just lost everything now this. But Job stood for God through it all and did not sin. That is important to understand that he did not sin because it meant that he did nothing against God for it.
This all leads to one thing that we would stand for God/Jesus no matter what comes our way. That Jesus /God would be the thing that we tell people about rather than the things of this world.
Stand for Jesus today!!!! Let's be as the disciples were and stood for Jesus no matter what happens. Let's be like the people in the book Jesus Freaks and stand for Jesus/God no matter what!!!!!
Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. 1 Peter 4:16 ESV
