Reading the Bible...

 

When was the last time you dusted off your bible and sat down and read it? Maybe you read it daily, I do not know. Yesterday I was reading my bible plan and almost started reading more than my chapter and that’s not a bad thing, but I stopped myself and finish what I suppose to read. I mention this because God word is fascinating and so much impact and wisdom for our lives. We have to read it to get that impact and wisdom. God's book is absolute and even in today’s era it is still relevant. It was written so long ago but it is still prevalent today. I write this twice in two different ways to let that sink in. Seek the bible in all circumstances and God will reveal what you need in the word not that everything you read in the bible will you understand but God as I said will reveal what you need. Is there a wrong way to read the bible yes, I believe there is? Don’t just take a verse and mold it into what you need or read a chapter and twist to what you need. Read what is around the verse you want to use or apply to your life/circumstance and see what they are saying because it may be different than what you are using it for. If you're reading the chapter, take a minute and understand what they are say and trying to convey to you, not what you think they are saying or conveying. There are things in the bible when I read that I do not understand and after that I research it and get some understanding maybe not fully but some understanding. So, I always try to understand and not read for something that is not in the verse or chapter I am reading. I believe reading the bible is another tool God gives us in our walk with him. I have mention pray as a tool too. there he mentions prayer again. I will mention prayer a lot because I think it is so important. One thing I want to point out is that when you read the bible if you come to familiar verse or things that you know about the bible that you take off the glasses that you wear and take a new look at those verses you encounter and learn something you did not know when you read it. I heard this verse so many times, I try to come each time with a new set of eyes and ears as I have never heard it and see what God has for me. The bile is truly life changing. So, dust off your bible and read it. If you already read it take a second look at the verses you already know and see them in a new light. Use the tools God has given you and go forth in your walk with God.
