11 whereas angels who are greater in might and power do not bring a demeaning judgment against them before the Lord. 12 But these, like unreasoning animals, born as creatures of instinct to be captured and killed, using abusive speech where they have no knowledge, will in the destruction of those creatures also be destroyed,
Verse 11
Angels who were good and greater than those false teachers.
their natural strength was greater.
The last part of the verse either refers to themselves or dignities.
CSB Says slanderous charge against them before the Lord.
KJ21 says accusation.
WYC says doom.
YLT says evil speaking Judgement.
So, this means they did not speak judgment against others or themselves.
whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. 2 Peter 2:11
whereas angels, though greater in might and power, bring not a railing judgment against them before the Lord. 2 Peter 2:11
whereas even angels who are superior in might and power do not bring a reviling (defaming) accusation against them before the Lord. 2 Peter 2:11 AMP
9 But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9
Verse 12
False teacher as described earlier is what, but these refer to.
Unreasoning animals refer to people who were void of reasoning and only followed their
sensual desires.
These unreasoning animals were made to be taken and destroyed.
Using abusive speech refers to speaking of evil things that they do not understand or could
comprehend as wisdom.
The last part of the verse talks about the utter destruction by their own corruption.
But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not, and shall utterly perish in their own corruption, 2 Peter 2:12 KJ21
But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed, 2 Peter 2:12 ASV
But these [false teachers], like unreasoning animals, [mere] creatures of instinct, born to be captured and destroyed, reviling things they do not understand, will also perish in their own corruption [in their destroying they will be destroyed], 2 Peter 2:12 AMP
10 But these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and all the things that they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. Jude 1:10
