Study of Peter 1 & 2: Chapter 5 Verses 11-14...

11 To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.

12 Through Silvanus, our faithful brother (for so I regard him), I have written to you briefly, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it! 13 She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you greetings, and so does my son, Mark. 14 Greet one another with a kiss of love.

Peace be to you all who are in Christ.

Verse 11

Dominion means to have authority or rule over people or situations in the Bible.

Him meaning Jesus/God have rule forever and ever.

Amen means to be in agreement with what was said.

36 For from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

Verse 12

Through Silvanus, he preached to them.

Faithful brother refers to him as faithful so they would receive him more readily.

The rest of the verse talks about preaching the true grace of God and then standing for that preaching.

19 For the Son of God, Christ Jesus, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silvanus and Timothy—was not yes and no, but has been yes in Him. 2 Corinthians 1:19

Verse 13

She is the Church at Babylon.

Chosen together with you- a branch of God's chosen people.

Send greetings from that church.

From what I read they are unsure if this is John Mark but that is what they are saying whom Peter is referring to.

My son may refer to it as I read affectionate reference.

12 And when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John, who was also called Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying. Acts 12:12

Verse 14

Greet one another with a kiss

The ASV says salute another says warm greeting.

This all just means to greet them with a special greeting.

Then the last part of the verse talks about peace to all who are in God.

16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. Romans 16:16
