End of Party and Start of John...

Yesterday we talked about our part in partying for God as we concluded the series as I keep getting the sense to talk about John today and the start of the study of John.

John is a disciple of Jesus.

Jesus chose twelve men and John was one of them.

John was a major founder/leader in the early Christian Church along with Peter and James.

John also is called Saint John.

Is the author of five books in the Bible- the Gospel of John, The Epistles first, second, third John, and the Book of Revelations.

John was the closest disciple to Jesus.

John was the disciple that Jesus loved.

John is the only disciple who died of old age.

He was Exiled to the isle of Patmos for his faith.

That is said to believe where he saw the vision for what is written in Revelations.

21 Going on from there He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, in the boat with their father Zebedee, mending their nets; and He called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him. Matthew 4:21-22

But on the contrary, seeing that I had been entrusted with the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised (for He who was at work for Peter in his apostleship to the circumcised was at work for me also to the Gentiles), and recognizing the grace that had been given to me, James and Cephas and John, who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we might go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. Galatians 2:7-9

Get ready and empty your minds of what you know about John, for tomorrow we start looking at the Gospel of John.

We will be looking at a chapter a day or as God leads.
