We have been talking and praying about Trust, resist, and do good. As we close out this series I want to love others and serving.
If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. James 2:8 ESV.
We are to love others that is one of the greatest commandments Jesus gave us.
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:44 ESV
We are even to love our enemies and pray for people who may want to hurt us. The best example of this is found in the actions of Jesus which says, And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. Luke 23:34 ESV.
Let's go deeper into what Jesus came for which is found in Matthew 20:28 (ESV), Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Jesus came to love others-neighbors, love His enemies, and to serve others. If we are made in God's image, we need to be just like Jesus. We need to do good by loving others, love our enemies and serve others.
I am working on this too. I don't tell you this so that you will just do it and then think that I have it all together. I struggle with the same things I talk about on this blog just like you. I am not a person who has it all together but one who recognizes that I am a work in progress in God.
Jesus= loves
Jesus= serving
Me= trying to love as Jesus did
Me= trying to serve as Jesus did
You= trying to love as Jesus did
You= trying to serve as Jesus Did
We will never be perfect at any of this but all we can to strive towards the goal, which is Christ.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23 ESV
But
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 ESV
