Jeremiah 29:11: Not for Disaster...

11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NASB

Not for disaster:

In God's plan, there may be disaster. God may bring disaster to bring us to change or to bring us closer to him. But what the verse is saying is that God does not want to start off with or have to use disaster. Some disasters come from the evil one as well and we have to discern the difference. 

They confronted me on the day of my disaster, But the Lord was my support. 2 Samuel 22:19 NASB

When the angel extended his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord relented of the disaster and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough! Now drop your hand!” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. 2 Samuel 24:16 NASB

‘If disaster comes upon us, the sword, or judgment, or plague, or famine, we will stand before this house and before You (for Your name is in this house), and cry out to You in our distress, and You will hear and save us.’ 2 Chronicles 20:9 NASB

if that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I planned to bring on it. Jeremiah 18:8 NASB

The Bible is filled with verse after verse about disaster and what it causes when it comes.

God's plan is for prosperity not for disaster. But when we fall away, do evil, not listen to Him he has to correct us so that we can come back to Him and seek and make Him our focus again.

All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2 Timothy 3:16 NASB.

When that happens disaster, we need to repent, and God will do His part, and the disaster will be gone In his timing. Don't think once you repent that God will do it right away all the time.

God wants us to have a life of abundance and blessing not a life of disaster, misery and pain!!!

Dear God, I pray that you help me, so we do not fall into disaster 

God be with us always and let our focus be on You always

Keep the evil away so we do not fall into disaster

Protect us from this

I proclaim and declare prosperity  for all today By your word in Jeremiah 29:11

God, we praise and thank You for this and for everything You do for us
