The things that Jesus stood for were Heaven and His Kingdom, truth, salvation, repentance, hope, forgiveness, and righteousness. these are things that Jesus stood for, so we are to strive to stand for those things as well. Yesterday as you read the questions and hopefully answered them, were standing for each of the things Jesus stood for, or were you not standing like Jesus in some areas. Just like Jesus and His message is whole not to be parted we are to stand for all that Jesus stood for. we are to imitate Jesus and what He stood for. to stand for these things is more than just talk we have to live them out in our lives. To do this we have to put action to what Jesus stood for. If we are to strive to be like Him, we need to practice these things, so that when people see us, they see Jesus and His good works and what He stood for not us, our sins, or our flesh.1 Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1.
We are to imitate Christ. Just like someone in a play, we are to imitate in the same way but instead of being a part we play, we are to live it out in our lives every day. we are not just to be the hands and feet of Jesus we are to be like Him. Now we are not to be Him we are to be like Him there is a difference. I just wanted to point that out.
1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; Ephesians 5:1. I keep talking about this because I want to drive this home that we are just like the verse says to be imitators of God. We are to profess Jesus and not be like Him, no we are to profess Jesus and live and be like Him, be imitators of Him.
6 You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word during great affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7. We are to be like Christ so we can be an example to the world that Jesus is still alive and well. this Jesus is not someone who is dead but someone who is alive and well and that is lived out through us and through His word. 6 He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. Matthew 28:6. How will people know that Jesus is alive and is for them if we do not imitate Him and live like Him to show them? Jesus Died and rose again on the third day, and is now in us for we can show the world, His awesome amazing Power, His love, His healing power, His awesome might, the whole of God, and everything He stood for. for Jesus is in heaven how will they see Him if not from us and how we do and act towards all things that come up in our lives.
Tomorrow I will talk about despising and then move on to verse 24 maybe I am always letting the Lord lead me in what I write.
