James Chapter 2 Verses 2-6...

2 For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and is dressed in bright clothes, and a poor man in dirty clothes also comes in, 3 and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the bright clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” 4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives? 5 Listen, my beloved brothers and sisters: did God not choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6 But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court?

Verse 2:

This verse contrasting rich versus poor.

3 Now Joshua was clothed in filthy garments and was standing before the angel. Zechariah 3:3

Verse 3: 

This verse is talking about putting the rich at a place of importance and the poor anywhere.

11 And Herod, together with his soldiers, treated Him with contempt and mocked Him, dressing Him in a brightly shining robe, and sent Him back to Pilate. Luke 23:11

Verse 4:

The verse is talking about us being judges of people because of how much money and how they dress.

This according to the verse is evil motives.

24 Do not judge by the outward appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”

Verse 5:

James is telling the readers to listen up and say that chose the poor to be rich in faith and heirs to God's kingdom. he promised these things to people who love Him.

19 Who shows no partiality to the prominent,

Nor regards the rich as above the poor,

Since they are all the work of His hands? Job 34:19

Verse 6:

By doing what they have done in the verses it has dishonored the poor man.

The verse talks about oppression not from the rich but the poor because they may drag you into court.

6 Does any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints? 1 Corinthians 6:6
