Although Exodus is not an uncommon book of the Bible, it got me to think of why have all those cubits and such about the building of the temple. The length of one curtain shall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits: and every one of the curtains shall have one measure. Exodus 26:2 KJV. And thou shalt make the court of the tabernacle: for the south side southward there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linen of an hundred cubits long for one side: Exodus 27:9 KJV. This is a big part of what the book is about. and I was going to look it up because I did not know why it would be in the Bible, meaning what purpose does it serve. Then this morning I got this on my mind and that is to show the importance of God and the seriousness we need to take things like this. Even more, so that even these verses have power.
These verses show God and the importance of us being reverent to Him in all that we do. The details explained in these verses show us that we need to put that much effort into what we do for God. I am big on theology, but I don't need someone to tell me the importance of God or the deeper meaning or something like that after I read those verses. I know the importance of God by what I got in my spirit this morning. Maybe there is a deeper meaning and such but for us (me), the most importance is knowing the importance of God here and nothing more in this time and hour. I tend to over-read and overthink the Bible so today I will leave at that, and that is that these the importance of God.
