Verse 22 Conclusion...

So, we will continue with verse 22 which says, It has happened to them according to the true

proverb, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in

the mire.”

Our first stop or look was in Proverbs where the verse came from In Peter.

This then took us on a journey to Exodus to talk about the king of Egypt.

Which keeps us looking at Exodus.

19 But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go, except under compulsion. 20 So

I will reach out with My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst

of it; and after that he will let you go. Exodus 3:19-20

But does this have to do with vomit returning to it as a dog?

Pharoah had the opportunity to change but went back to old habits.

Pharaoh was given 10 times to change but each time he went back to his old habits.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23

Pharoah was committing sin and, in the end, literally died for it.

The same could be said of Pharoah about walling in the mire.

He had 10 chances to be clean but chose to return to the mire and be in sin.

Take Pharoah and insert us as that person and answer these questions:

Are you like Pharoah in any way?

Do you go back to old habits?

Do you keep coming back to the same sin?

Think about these things and if so, make changes in your life today!!!!

Tomorrow we start a study that starts in Genesis 1:1 and we see where it goes from there.
