Study of Peter 1& 2: Chapter 1 Verses 21-25...

21 who through Him are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

22 Since you have purified your souls in obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers and sisters, fervently love one another from the heart, 23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable, but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For,

“All flesh is like grass,

And all its glory is like the flower of grass.

The grass withers,

And the flower falls off,

25 But the word of the Lord endures forever.”

And this is the word which was preached to you.

Verse 21

This verse in the first part talks about believers and people of faith.

The second part of the verse talks about a living God by our faith.

The last part is literally saying that we are to have faith and hope in God

Verse 22

The first part of the verse talks about how people of faith had purified their souls.

Then it goes on to talk about obedience to the truth or put another way yielding to the truth.

Every Bible says obey or obedience, so there is no confusion as to this.

Verse 23

Born again refers to Christ and being holy. the old self dies and the new self in Christ remains.

Corruptible is what the King James Version uses and by using this word we can see that this is talking about the corruptible seed.

This refers to a seed that is planted/cast on the earth.

The second part of the verse which talks about perishable or corruptible refers to the word of God.

The last part of the verse talks about the living word of God.

Verse 24

All flesh is like grass refers to all people, all men.

This is talking about how for a while it will be pretty, but it will become withered after a while and die, this refers to the perishable or corrupt.

Verse 25

Then talk about the Lord and His word and His people will endure forever.

That the living word that endures was preached to men/women.
