Galatians 6:1-10

 Bear One Another's Burdens

6 Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5 For each will have to bear his own load.

6 Let the one who is taught the word share all good things with the one who teaches. 7 Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9 And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. 10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:1-10 ESV

Trust, Resist, Do Good: Do Good prayer...

Do good just as God does Good to us!!!! Take every opportunity to do good wherever you can!!!

Doing good combats, evil. Doing good is the right thing to do if we profess that we are Christians.

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9 ESV

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, Colossians 3:23 ESV

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:10 ESV.

Dear God take apart our hearts and minds

Rip then apart our minds and our hearts

Empty all that we think of and have in our hearts

That God would fill us up to do good

So that we have a new way of thinking and a new heart to do good

I pray that the enemy the devil has no stronghold in this area

I pray devil hands off our way of doing good

I proclaim and declare that doing good would be implanted in our hearts and minds today

I praise God for doing good

I thank God for doing good.

Genesis 1:26-31

 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

   27 So God created man in his own image,

    in the image of God he created him;

    male and female he created them.

28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. Trust, Resist, Do Good: Do Good...

God is love. 

God is righteousness. 

God is just.

God is joy. 

God is Strength. 

God is good. 

God helpfulness.

God is breaking (walls and chains).

God is healing.

God is about doing Good. 

(God is more than just these listed, He is so much more.)

11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 NASB. In the NIV it says not to harm you, instead of not for disaster.

In this verse, we know that God is about doing good towards us, God loves us, God wants joy for us, God is just, God is healing, and God is good. If God can be that good to us and do good like that, why can't we do and show that same kind of good?

God did the ultimate Good and that is found in Matthew 20:28 (NASB), Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

God came down in the flesh as Jesus and died for our sins. If that is not the ultimate of good then I don't know what is.

God is good and we are made in His image, So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:27. So, let us be good just like God today.

Think of ways you can be good like God today?

What things do you need to cut out so you can be good like God?

What is your definition of doing good? Does it align with God's definition?

Renew your mind to do good if needed today!!!

John 13:31-35

A New Commmandment 

31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, ‘Where I am going you cannot come.’ 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:31-35 ESV

Trust, Resist, Do Good: Do Good...

Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. Psalm 37:3 NASB

Depart from evil and do good, So you will abide forever. Psalm 37:27 NASB

Both of these verses talk about doing good. As Christians that is what we are to do do good and not evil. What is good let's, look at Galatians 5:22-23 (ESV), But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. These things are good and what we are to have as Christians meaning these are to be evident in our lives if we profess Christ as our Lord and Savior.

But what I am talking about is those things but so much more. Holding a door for someone, helping someone to their car, carrying something for someone, helping a neighbor and the list could go on and on. 

We as Christians are set apart. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 ESV. Yes, we are a chosen people according to the verse above and how will people know this if we do not show that we are by doing good.

In all the cops shows there is a part where they find evidence that helps them find the person. What if People needed to this about us would they find evidence that we are Christians by what we do. We need to live out our faith and one of those ways is to do good. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35 ESV. How will people know we are Jesus Disciples if we do not show it. We need to do good.

Do good today!!!!

Romans 1:18-32

 God’s Anger at Sin

18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. 25 They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. 26 That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. 27 And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

28 Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. 29 Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. 30 They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. 31 They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. 32 They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. Romans 1:18-32 NLT

Trust, Resist, Do Good: Resist The devil Prayer...

 Resist I say, again I say resist.

Resist the devil I say, again resist the devil I say.

We need to arise each day and resist the devil.

We need to:

Humble yourself 

Submit to God 

resist the devil

devil flees 

draw nigh to God, God will draw nigh to you

renew our minds

Dear God, I pray that we can have the strength each day to humble ourselves

I pray that each day we submit to You God

I proclaim and declare that we resist the devil in the process

I declare that the devil will flee from submitting to You God

God, I proclaim that we draw nigh to you so that in turn you will draw nigh to us

I pray for our minds to be renewed by our submitting to You God

I proclaim the devil will not harm us in this process

I praise God for this

I praise and thank God for the victory we already have in this area

Pray this prayer and find what you need to resist in what the devil does in your life? example your mind, eyes, ears, your tongue, actions.

29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.  Romans 1:29-31 ESV.

2 Corinthians 11:1-15

 Paul and the False Apostles

11 I wish you would bear with me in a little foolishness. Do bear with me! 2 For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. 3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough. 5 Indeed, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles. 6 Even if I am unskilled in speaking, I am not so in knowledge; indeed, in every way we have made this plain to you in all things.

7 Or did I commit a sin in humbling myself so that you might be exalted, because I preached God's gospel to you free of charge? 8 I robbed other churches by accepting support from them in order to serve you. 9 And when I was with you and was in need, I did not burden anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied my need. So I refrained and will refrain from burdening you in any way. 10 As the truth of Christ is in me, this boasting of mine will not be silenced in the regions of Achaia. 11 And why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

12 And what I am doing I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. 13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 15 So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. 2 Corinthians 11:1-15 ESV

Trust, Resist, Do Good: Resist...

 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14 ESV

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Matthew 5:7 ESV

We left off yesterday talking about how the devil will use every tool he has so we are miserable and not seeking God. These verses above are just examples of this and how the devil uses whatever means necessary to get you not to seek or worship God. The devil tries to keep us from the glory and the things God has for us.

But I am here to tell you that the devil loses, and God wins. I am here to tell you that the power of the devil is limited. I am here to tell you that the devil is a puppet of God. God only lets the devil do what he can do. God is limitless in power and is limitless in everything! The devil has no power over you unless you give it to him. The devil only is able to work in the confines of what you give him and what God will allow him to do.

So that we do not fall prey to the devil and let him rule we need to resist the devil and all his demons. we need to be humble like in verse 4:6 of James (AMP), 6 But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “God is opposed to the proud and haughty, but [continually] gives [the gift of] grace to the humble [who turn away from self-righteousness].”

Then we need to do as it says in verse 4:7 of James (AMP), 7 So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you. 

After that, we need to do as it says in James 4:8 (AMP), 8 Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; and purify your [unfaithful] hearts, you double-minded [people].

The final thing we need to do is as it says in Romans 12:2 (AMP), 2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

To put it in a simpler form:

Humble yourself 

 Submit to God 

resist the devil

devil flees 

draw nigh to God, God will draw nigh to you

renew our minds

That is what we need to do to resist the devil and all his ways and plans. Put this in your heart and in your mind today. 

Ephesians 2:1-10

 By Grace Through Faith

2 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2 in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— 3 among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— 6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:1-10 ESV

Trust, Resist, Do Good: Resist...

Depart from evil and do good; And you will dwell [securely in the land] forever. Psalm 37:27 AMP

Today we are talking about departing/resisting the devil/evil. 

When we first become Christians, we give our lives to Christ and turn from evil, or you can say it as the verse says it depart from evil.  That is not the only time we are to depart/resist evil. This is a daily thing we are to do. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 ESV. We have to be on guard 24/7 so, we are not led into temptation. 

19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 1 John 5:19 ESV. This world we live in is evil. 9 The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” Job 1:9 ESV. The devil walks around the earth not just in Job's time but today as well. he does this because he wants to do as it says in John 10:10 (ESV), 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. he wants to take away what God has for us, wants to lead us away from God, and to have us be miserable that is when the devil is most happy.

I am here to tell you that I do not care if the devil is happy. This is not just me, but God does not care if the devil is happy either. God wants us to be happy not the devil. If the devil is happy, it means God has lost a soul and they are not seeking Him and worshipping Him. 

The devil will use anything he can to derail us from our faith and walk in God. The devil does not want us happy he wants us to be miserable, and that is where the devil/evil thrives. he does not want us seeking and glorifying God. he wants us to be miserable as I said.

Resist the devil today and seek the one and only God!!!!

Isaiah 41:1-20

 Fear Not, for I Am with You

Listen to me in silence, O coastlands;

    let the peoples renew their strength;

let them approach, then let them speak;

    let us together draw near for judgment.

Who stirred up one from the east

    whom victory meets at every step?[a]

Trust, Resist, Do Good: Trust and a Prayer...

3 Trust in Adonai and do good. Dwell in the land, feed on faithfulness. Psalm 37:3 TLV. The verse that started this journey to us talking about trusting in God. We looked at more evidence in the Bible yesterday, we looked at Proverbs 3:5, Mark 12:30, Hebrews 11:6 Philippians 4:4 (all from the ESV).

The Bible is riddled with verses, stories, and chapters about the topic of trusting in God.

Moses had to trust that he would be delivered from the Egyptians.

29 It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground. But when the Egyptians tried to follow, they were all drowned. Hebrews 11:29 ESV

In every battle of the Bible, the person had to trust that God would deliver them into their hands.

8 Then Abishai said to David, “God has given your enemy into your hand this day. Now please let me pin him to the earth with one stroke of the spear, and I will not strike him twice.” ! Samuel 26:8 ESV

Isaiah had to trust God.

3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 ESV

Psalm after Psalm has verses about trusting in God or trusting God.

5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5 ESV

The verse below is talking and by this verse, we know that David trusted in God.

5 Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. Psalm 37:5 NLT 

Trust in the Lord/God is the Basis for our faith as I mentioned yesterday.

Trust in the Lord today!!!

Dear God,

I pray you put a heart of trust in me today

I proclaim and declare this trust will be with me always

That this trust that we have in You will transcend all earthly things

That no matter what comes our trust in You would not fall away but that we would be firmly planted in Your Trust

I declare and proclaim that the devil cannot touch the trust we have in God

I declare and proclaim the devil cannot derail us from this trust we have in God

I praise You God for this trust You have given us

I thank you for the trust you have given us
