Seeing god in the Unlikely Places

God can be seen in anything you do and have going on you just need to look for Him in those things you normally wouldn't look for Him. God is not a Sunday God, a morning God, a quick prayer God, or a night prayer God but a God of the 24/7. He is Lord 24/7, and we should seek him as such.  And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Mark 12:30 ESV.  We have talked about this already but wanted to bring it up again to share this again, to say that God is the God of the 24/7 and we can give him our 24/7. This means you can give God anything you can think of, like anxiety, stress, storms, and such, and He will be with You. We just have to see/ seek Him in everything we do. 

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. Psalm 14:2 ESV

In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying; my soul refuses to be comforted. Psalm 77:2 ESV

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Psalm 105:4 ESV

All this verse talks about seeing/seeking God, and it all culminates to one thing and that is what the last verse talks about seeking/seeing God continually!!!! 

Tomorrow as we close this series, I wanted to bring this up again today for tomorrow we talk about sin. I learned to look for God in places I have not looked before for and sought God. How have you sought God differently because of this series? Share if you are willing?

Seeing God in the Unlikely Places!!!!

Seeing God in the unlikely place of your kids. In my life I say that kids have more faith than most adults do because they lived less, I guess, or have not gone through as much, or are more holy because they are blameless, I do not know why. But I was open to seeing/seeking God and the other day my son said Jesus and amen. I play Christian music for my son, and he loves music, he says más when certain songs come on, and some of those recently have been Christian songs. it brings a tear to your eye when he dances and wants to hear more Christian songs.

Children are the best bet to see Christ in today's world because they have more faith than we do.

Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Luke 18:17 ESV 

Who Is the Greatest?

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them 3 and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:1-4 ESV.

So when we are to see/seek God in unlikely places the best place to look is in our kids. This doesn't mean using our kids as the only way for us to have faith. But the bible says who is the greatest and the answer is children. Seek children and see what kind of faith they have and try to have that kind of faith. It's not me saying it, but the bible is clear. See/seek God like children today!!!!!

See God in the Unlikely Places!!!

I was all set to keep going with the relationships and the company you keep but yesterday I got a revelation. One of my favorite shows was back when it was on was CSI Las Vegas and now they have CSI: Vegas. The episode I was watching was about a family who got murdered but an unborn baby was able to live. The end song of the episode was Fields of Gold performed by someone I did not know as the song was playing, I started to get a little watery in the eyes, I walked over and hugged my son a little bit longer and more than usual. But the story doesn't end there at work it hit me that God was there in that moment to remind me what is important and what he has done for me. I said to myself I have to share this because this is exactly what we are talking about seeing/seeking God in the unlikely places!!! If God can use this episode of that show to show me what is important and what He has done for me, what more can He show you if look for it. 

As I blog right now and listen to Fields of Gold by Sting I am reminded of the goodness of God and that He can use what is not from Him and use it for His good! but test everything: hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 ESV. The love we have for our children is something we should hold fast to and know that they are a true gift of God. In a book my son has that I was reading to him yesterday it said God gave us you... I saw what I saw yesterday because I was open to seeing God in unlikely places.

20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today. Genesis 50:20 ESV. God can use anything to see/seek Him in unlikely places that the devil might be but God can use that for His glory!!!! Where will seek/see God in the unlikely places?

Seeing God in the Unlikely places!!!!

Where to go from here? Then it hit me and it was seeing God in the unlikely place of relationships. Are the friends you have, keeping you from God or do they bring you closer to God?  I used to work for a company and I started to talk the like the employee around me and It was a good friend who told me that it wasn't good that I remain at that company. I left not only because of that but for other reasons as well but the thing I talked about above is one of the main reasons I left. It was because I had Godly relationships with this person that God was there through this person to tell me to change jobs (course). The people you keep matters. If the people you keep smoke, do drugs, and drink you will do the same and be led to destruction.20 Keep company with the wise and you will become wise. If you make friends with stupid people, you will be ruined. Proverbs 13:20 GNT

In the verse above it talk about keeping good company and if you don't you will be ruined. I know this and believe this all my heart because I have gone through this. The company I keep has changed over time because my walk has evolved.

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 ESV

There are so many verses about the company you keep, this must be important. so as I put a pin in this for today I ask what kind of company do you keep and who do need to week out of your life so that you are not brought to ruin like the verse in proverbs say?

Seeing God in the Unlikely places!!!!

Yesterday we discussed sleep as an unlikely place to seek God. we see God throughout our day but do we seek God at night or as we sleep. Take time today to see how you can change what you do at night and as you sleep so you can see and seek God. This is so important!!!!

Things you can do at night are:

Pray before bed

Read the Bible

Listen to messages

Release your care worries to God

Turn off the TV to sleep 

Put on Christian music to sleep

expel all evil before you fall asleep

and anything you can think of that will lead to Christ and His kingdom

8 Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 ASV. 

Today I leave with Psalm 91 it talks about protection for tomorrow we look at the unlikely place of protection. 

My Refuge and My Fortress

91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  
         2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

         3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
    and from the deadly pestilence.
         4 He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;

Seeing God in the Unlikely places!!!!

Seeing God in the unlikely place of sleep. 20 But when he thought on these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is [c]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 1: 20-21. God is not just the God when we are awake but also when we are asleep. Remember God is 24/7 and so is our walk with Him. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds, Job 33:15 ESV. God will use this to give us visions, warnings, and anything He needs to do to correct us or tell us stuff.

So just like you search and seek God during the day seek him at night. We pray for the day, but do we pray for the night? Do we seek God at night or do we just go to sleep not seeking Him? God gave Joseph a vision in his sleep and look what happened because of it the Lord was born so that He could die for our sins.8 Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8 ASV. The devil doesn't sleep like God doesn't sleep so why should we think that we can just sleep and not ask for protection and seek God in our sleep. If Joseph had not accepted the vision what would have happened....

Dear God, I pray for the sleep we will have tonight for everyone who reads this

that we would seek You and prepare for the things you have while we sleep like visions and such

I pray for protection while we sleep

The devil would have hands off our nights

I proclaim and declare this in the mighty name of Jesus

Seeing God in the Unlikely Places!!!!

Today we will be talking about seeing God in the unlikely place of the silent. Yes, God shows up in the silence not that God is silent but that we are silent. According to Exodus 14:14 ESV, all we need to do is be silent and He will fight for me. The Lord will fight for you, and you only have to be silent." (The verse). another example of this is found in Zechariah 2:13 (ASV) which says Be silent, all flesh before Jehovah: for he is waked up out of his holy habitation. We often talk so much to God, that He can't get in a word edgewise. There is power in the silence. A conversation is a two-way kind of thing, it takes two to have one. If you are just the one talking it is just you talking not a conversation. I have talked about this before, but I think this is so important to bring up here.

Throughout scripture, God wants to hear from us and there are many scriptures to back that up but there are few that people were silent. Why is that I do not know. But I can say that the devil does not want us to hear from God. so we need to do as the verse says in James 4:7 (ESV), Submit yourselves therefore God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. So be silent today, listen for God, and tell the devil I am for God and want to listen for Him.

Pray and clear your mind and listen for God!!!! Today's message is short because taking time to listen for God takes time...

Seeing God in Unlikely Places!!!!

Today we will be talking about the church and you're thinking that the church is not an unlikely place. But I tell you this it is. Most people go to church and do the motions or go and check the box that says Church. they are as it says in Revelation 3:16 (ASV) So because thou art lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spew thee out of my mouth. To go to just go and say you went to church is to be lukewarm. We often go to church but don't expect God to be there or to move. Well, at least we think He is there but maybe not for us. 

Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. Isaiah 30:18 ESV.  Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelations 3:20 ASV. Both verses above signify that God wants to be with us and is with us, we just have to wait, listen for God, and then He will come in and be with us. 

If you come to church and all you do is the motions, how do you expect God to be in this unlikely place? To further this idea that God will be there is found in Matthew 18:20 (ASV) and it says For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Some translations say among them, some say in the midst, some I am there but it all means, He will be within Church. We just need to slow down and see God in this unlikely place.

So will you seek God at church?

Will you look for the things God has for you at church?

Will you seek the unlikely things God has for you at church?

Do you believe God will show up?

Will you show up like God shows up?

God is at church just waiting for you to show up and do your part which is to see, listen, worship, pray, and do it will all your might. We just need to show up as I mentioned, ready and willing with all our might.

So In this unlikely place get and be ready for if you do it will change your life!!!! 

Seeing God in the Unlikely Places!!!!

We as people are told to go a million miles an hour, the more we do the better we are. But I got this in my spirit to stay on this slow and seeking God. Who likes to go slow in a car, no one I can think of, we all like to go fast. Everyone has heard the phrase slow down and stop and smell the roses once in a while. As I said yesterday, we all want to be on fire for God and have those on-fire moments but that doesn't mean we have to do it fast. if we go too fast, we can miss what God has for us all together.

Isaiah 30:18 (ESV) says, Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.  To wait is to slow down like we are talking about. The Bible talks a lot about being slow to anger an example of this is in James 1:19 (ASV), Ye know this, my beloved brethren. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. what if we too this kind of slow to everything we do slow to act, slow down and see what God is doing, to slow down and help others to see Jesus. This unlikely place is not what the world wants us to do they want us to go as fast as we can. but I say slow down and see what God has for you.

Dear God I thank you for the slow

God, I pray for everyone who reads this would slow down and see what you have for them

God I pray that the on-fire moments would be found in the slow

I pray for protection around the slow and that unlikely place to find God

Seeing God in the Unlikely Places!!!!

Have you ever been worshipping at church or in the car to a fast-paced song then a slow song comes on and you stop worshiping? This was me and still is me. When the song is bumpin I'm into it but when it gets slow, I tend to stop or tune out to a degree, not be as intent as I was with the bumpin song. This got me to think of unlikely places we can seek god and that is in the slow. I like the all-out, the loud, the powerful, and the on-fire. For me, the slow is the unlikely place I need to seek God more intently or as the Bible says diligently. I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Proverbs 8:17 ESV. As I have said we need to be intent in seeking God in the unlikely places, be diligent as the Bible states according to Proverbs 8:17

So, for me, it is putting those songs in my playlist that are slow and being intentional as if it were a bumpin song. Because I realized that the slow songs are bumpin in their own way. So, for me, if I am worshipping/praising God or seeking Him and stop I am not doing as it says in Psalm 105:4. seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Psalm 105:4 ESV. 

So, for you what is the thing that you need to seek in the unlikely places in the slow? is it slow songs or something else? No matter what It is, the being diligent and continually still applies. so throughout the y when slow music comes on I need to be just a bumpin song worship/praise with all my might.

We all want to be on fire and be in the on-fire moments but sometimes God wants us to slow down and still worship him. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:5 ESV. Just because we slow down doesn't mean we have to lose the fire or those on-fire moments it just means it is slow instead of bumpin. 

So again, I ask in a different way, where do you need to slow down in the unlikely places to see/ seek God? Take time today and see where it will change your life!!!!

Seeing God in unlikely Places!!!!

God showed up again last night with another dog at my job. I had to get it off my job site, but it reminded me of God and the night before. As I said God can use anything to bring you to Himself. We are to seek God at all times.  Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13 ESV. We need to seek God in unlikely places with our whole hearts. Just like a Dog can lead me to Christ and gets me to worship him in the times that I may not worship intently.  I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Proverbs 8:17 ESV. We need to be intent to be diligent. 

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Psalm 105:4 ESV.

16 Elisha answered, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “Lord, please, open his eyes that he may see.” And the Lord opened the servants eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha. 2 kings 6:15-17 ASV.

 

My prayer is the eyes of people who read this are opened to the unlikely places to draw us closer to you

That we would be as it happened in 2 Kings 6:15-17

That we would continually seek You as it says Psalm 105:4

I pray that we are intent so that we can be diligent in seeking You in the unlikely places today

Seeing God in Unlikely Places!!!!

Last night I was at work and dog was roaming around and had to call animal control. A little girl was looking at the dog, I felt bad if they were to put the dog down. I felt like crying but God was there in that unlikely place and time. I sought God in that moment, in that unlikely place and time. In everything we do we need to seek God. God is everywhere, we just need to seek and look for Him.

This morning I was reading out of second kings and came across a verse (the last one) that I think fits into what we are talking about and it says, 15 The servant of the man of God got up early and went out, and behold, there was an army with horses and chariots encircling the city. Elisha’s servant said to him, “Oh no, my master! What are we to do?” 16 Elisha answered, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “Lord, please, open his eyes that he may see.” And the Lord opened the servants eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha. 2 kings 6:15-17 ASV.

I saw God and His glory last because my eyes were opened. If our eyes are open to the unlikely places that God is, we will be able to see it. Guess what, I was seeking God but not in that way and he showed up and I saw His glory!!! As I said God is everywhere all the time 24/7. Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV. We just to seek him continually!!! we need to be a 24/7 follower of God and we will see and be shown the unlikely places God is.

Open your eyes to what the unlikely places God is wanting you to see Him and be shown.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Proverbs 8:17 ESV.

Seeing God in Unlikely Places!!!

God is everywhere all the time. Can you imagine that He is everywhere all the time? In the midst of sin He is there, right? Yes, He is! God is everywhere and with us 24/7. Can you imagine that the God of heaven loves us so much that He is everywhere all the time just for us? It got me to think where are the places where we need to seek God. and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ Mark 12:30 NASB. The answer is found in this verse to where we need to seek God and the answer is everywhere. This verse talks about all and seeking Him is giving your all. But we tend to look/seek God in normal times and places Examples of this are morning prayer, church, nightly prayer, Bible study, worship events, when asked to pray, and such. 

But isn't there a lot of time between those things that we can see God and those places are called the unlikely places. Do you seek God while you do your business in the bathroom? Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11 ESV. This verse talks about continually which means never stopping.  If God is for us and with us, 24/7 don't you think He deserves the same in everything and in the unlikely places most of all?

I see God in my Coffee when I drink it. Have you ever given God praise for making coffee? I have and I thank Him for it. For most people when listening to worldly music, it leads them away from God but for me, it leads me closer to God. No, I am not talking about rap and songs like that, but I can go from listening to a song by DJ bobo called One Vision One World to listening to Christian music. Because what I am seeking is God to begin with. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!  Psalm 119:10 ESV.

Where will look for God today in the unlikely places? Take time to do this and it will change your life!!!!

Seeing God in Unlikely Places!!!

If you have ever read your Bible, you know that God showed up in a burning bush, a cloud, and more. You do not think of these things when you think of God right off the bat, you think of God in heaven looking down on us. The most unlikely place you think to see God is in human form, but God was there, and His name was Jesus. God also shows up in Angels and in staffs. But where are we looking for Him in the shower, in the car, in the midst of your job, at the dinner table, at your schools, or even in our government? God can literally show up in the most unlikely places to bring you to Him so that He may get the glory that He so righteously deserves. 

But are we looking for it as we talked about God wants it all from us. and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ Mark 12:30 NASB. God wants us to look for Him at all times even in unlikely places. I see God Born in the USA by Bruce Springsteen. I'm thankful I live in the USA and listening to that song reminds me of that. I can go from listening to that song to being on my knees and worshipping to a Christian song. I can watch the show Blue Bloods and lead to think of God because they pray at the dinner table. When I am in the bathroom brushing my teeth, I think of God and why He made teeth so important that they are so fragile. God Is everywhere we just have to be looking/seeking Him.

God can use what the devil made for his purpose for the purpose of Himself. All things are God's even the unlikely places and we need to be seeking/looking for Him in those places.

God can be in your morning cup of coffee, in your toast, when nature calls, As, I have said He can literally be everywhere you just have look/seek Him in the unlikely places. What unlikely places will you look/seek God today? Take time to this it will change your life!!!!
