Luke 5

 5 Now it came to pass, while the multitude pressed upon him and heard the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret; 2 and he saw two boats standing by the lake: but the fishermen had gone out of them, and were washing their nets. 3 And he entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the multitudes out of the boat. 4 And when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5 And Simon answered and said, Master, we toiled all night, and took nothing: but at thy word I will let down the nets. 6 And when they had done this, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their nets were breaking; 7 and they beckoned unto their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. 8 But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. 9 For he was amazed, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken; 10 and so were also James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. 11 And when they had brought their boats to land, they left all, and followed him.

12 And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy: and when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 13 And he stretched forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou made clean. And straightway the leprosy departed from him. 14 And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them. 15 But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities. 16 But he withdrew himself in the deserts, and prayed.

17 And it came to pass on one of those days, that he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was with him]to heal. 18 And behold, men bring on a bed a man that was palsied: and they sought to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19 And not finding by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus. 20 And seeing their faith, he said, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 22 But Jesus perceiving their reasonings, answered and said unto them, Why reason ye in your hearts? 23 Which is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say, Arise and walk? 24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (he said unto him that was palsied), I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go unto thy house. 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his house, glorifying God. 26 And amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God; and they were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to-day.

27 And after these things he went forth, and beheld a publican, named Levi, sitting at the place of toll, and said unto him, Follow me. 28 And he forsook all, and rose up and followed him.

29 And Levi made him a great feast in his house: and there was a great multitude of publicans and of others that were sitting at meat with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners? 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are in health have no need of a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.

33 And they said unto him, The disciples of John fast often, and make supplications; likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink. 34 And Jesus said unto them, Can ye make the sons of the bride-chamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? 35 But the days will come; and when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, then will they fast in those days. 36 And he spake also a parable unto them: No man rendeth a piece from a new garment and putteth it upon an old garment; else he will rend the new, and also the piece from the new will not agree with the old. 37 And no man putteth new wine into old wine-skins; else the new wine will burst the skins, and itself will be spilled, and the skins will perish. 38 But new wine must be put into fresh wine-skins. 39 And no man having drunk old wine desireth new; for he saith, The old is good. Seek Ye First: First to Across

Picture it there are rows of chairs and people sitting on each side of the aisles and you see people reaching across the aisles to shake each other's hands and they are delighted to in doing so. What would that look like if we did that in real life we walked across an aisle and shook someone's hand? Let's put that into real-world terms what if we walk across the railroad tracks and shook someone, we didn't know who might not be of the same status as us. What if we walked across the street and shook someone's hand, we did not know. what if walk across and talked to some of a different race and or background and get to know them and shake their hand. This Idea can be implemented to anything you can think of walking across to shake someone's hand.

But I don't know what to say or what to do if they ask me anything. I'm not in the right mindset and have nothing to offer. I say to you that all it takes is a handshake and to tell them that Jesus loves them. Jesus was holy and it didn't look right for Him to eat with sinners and tax collectors but he walked across and sat and ate with them anyways. 16 And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and publicans, said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? Mark 2:16. 2 And both the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them. Luke 15:2. Jesus came not for the righteous but for the unrighteous to bring them to himself. 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are in health have no need of a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I am not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. Luke 5:31-32.

This series Is called Walking Across the Aisle and will take us from the Seek Ye First series to this series as it ends so when we finish one series we will walk across and keep on this series. We take a deep look at Jesus and how He walked across the aisle. We will then what it looks like for us to walk across the aisle and go from there.

Seek Ye first: Day Not Flesh but Spirit...

 Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen. Psalm 41:31. 24 This is the day which Jehovah hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24. these are the two verses that will make up what I want to touch on today and this is this idea of blessing the Lord for this is the day that he has made. This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it and bless God for He is everlasting. When in the spirit we will rejoice each and every day for this because we know that God is the one who sits on the throne in heaven and has made this day just for us who he called to His own and call Him the God of their lives and of the faith that they follow. We are to be glad each and every day rejoicing in it for God has made it for us. In the spirit, we can do this not when we are of the flesh can we do this. you cannot worship Jesus in the flesh only in the spirit. You can make the flesh worship Jesus in the spirit but the flesh unto itself as I have said does not want to worship Jesus. The flesh wants to rejoice in pleasure not the joy of the day which has been made by God. Let's resist the flesh as I have been talking about and do as Psalm 149 says

9 Praise ye Jehovah.

Let us worship this day and rejoice and be Glad for it because God made it and for who is and what He has done for us. Go forth praising and lifting high the name of Jesus for this is the day that the Lord has made.

Seek Ye First: Die Flesh Continued...

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. We are to be rooted and built up in Christ, so our spirit is alive, and our flesh is dead. The flesh is weak, as this verse says, so we need to watch and pray that we are not tempted. Even as the verse says the spirit is willing, if we are rooted and built up in Christ, this will not be so.

for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23. Yes, we have all given in to sin which is our fleshly desire. Even when we are in the spirit, we will fall short of the glory of God. It is what we do that sin that we commit that differs whether we are truly in the spirit or of the flesh. For no matter what we do, we will fall short. if you take captive the sin right away you are of the spirit and if you let the sin, take over you are of the flesh and cannot be of the spirit. for you can keep sinning and be of the spirit you have to stop it, take it captive and give it to God and confess and ask for forgiveness as soon as you can. As we talked about yesterday about what is of the flesh, we have to give it up to God as soon as we do one of those and we all from time to time will do at least one. we have all gotten angry I can tell you that at one point in your life, so you were of the flesh when you did that and not in the spirit.

For now, that we all know that we fall short of the glory of God and our flesh is weak and I touched on this yesterday and today we need to be rooted and built up in Christ so what does that mean to do that?  You need to be on the watch for the flesh and the things of the flesh at all times always being in prayer and seeking Jesus and His kingdom and reading His word so that when the time comes, we will be ready and not fall to the Flesh but be in the spirit. The deeper we are in Christ the easy it will be, right? no not at all that is why we always need to be on watch/guard. 13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13. we need to discern at all times what is good and what is evil.2 And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. We need the renewing of our minds so we can have this discernment between good and evil. So, we will not fall to the flesh but be alive in the spirit. We need to be built up and rooted in Christ in the things that I talked about so that when the time comes, we will be ready

Seek Ye First: Die Flesh...

The flesh must die and that is today. But with all that said what is the flesh. the flesh is explained in Galatians 5:19 and it says, 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these: fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties, 21 envyings, drunkenness, revellings, and such like; of which I forewarn you, even as I did forewarn you, that they who practise such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. These are the things of the flesh and the flesh unto itself does not want to worship God it wants to do what it desires. It wants to do the things of this world which are the things listed above. 

Would you rather be prim and proper or go out and have a good time and get drunk? for the flesh the latter sounds better, we being alive in the spirit know and can discern what to do and which is better for us. 16 But I say, Walk by the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16. We know that if we walk in the spirit we will say no to our flesh, we will be knowing what is good and what is evil and be able to discern.

The flesh has needs and instead what are supposed to fill it with, so we do not do the things of the flesh. We are as the verse says in the last paragraph, we are to walk in the spirit. We are to fill ourselves up with God and His word and the things of heaven and not the things of this earth.7 Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 We are to be subject to things of God and not the devil so evil will flee. we are to be rooted in God's word and His kingdom. 7 rooted and builded up in him, and established in your faith, even as ye were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. Colossians 2:7. We are not to be rooted and built-up things of the earth but of God and we are to establish that with our faith.

Seek Ye First: Spirit and Prayer!!!!

With everything I have in my spirit, I want you to get this and be made alive in the spirit and dead to the flesh. Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; 1 peter 3:18. 

Dear God, I can only pray that everyone who reads this will come alive in the spirit and dead to the flesh.

God with every fiber of my being will every who reads this will come to know to recognize to be alive in the spirit and be dead to the things of the flesh

To seek Ye first and worship you with all there hearts mind and soul

33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:37

So, we are to be alive in the spirit and dead to the flesh.  That is all said and good but how do we live that out. If we are to truly live in the spirit, we must fully trust God and all that he has for us and not on our own understanding. We are to first seek His Kingdom and trust in God. we need to know that God will take care of things in Matthew 6:33 and he will take care of everything else if just believe and praise and seek Him for everything. today I want you to meditate on not your understanding but on God's understanding.  Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding: Proverbs 3:5.

I want you to become spiritually alive if you are not by Praying with me.

Dear God

I praise You and thank You for who you are

I pray today that my own understanding be taken away 

and I replace that understanding with yours

I pray that I am made alive in the spirit and that my flesh dies

I pray that I completely surrender to you my life to you

In all things you are great and glorious

In Jesus Name
